So there should be a topic of the new GPU series..
We can all talk here regarding the new products, price, advantage, disadvantage, flaws etc...
Wether to upgrade or not etc...

Im personally thinking of upgrading to a 780 myself.. Not at the moment, but when i see a price decrease.

So let it rip guys.
New 770 announced. According to article, suppose to be 5% faster than gtx 680.
Hmm, according to benchmarks on Youtube, it differs with the article you saw.
680 still is better than 770 in terms of fps.

But the 780 on the other hand ! its almost like the Titan ! and much cheaper (Abroad not in our country xD)
Thats why im opting to get one.
680 is not faster than 770. The 770 is a higher-clocked 680.
indeed. 770 can't be slower than the 680.
i for one am not too thrilled about this mid cycle refresh. for the 770, we just got more performance and more power consumption, so nothing magical here.
As for the 780 it's too expensive.
I will be waiting for maxwell next year for my upgrade.
I would wait for the AMD volcanic island gpu(late 2013). It will smoke any card available in the market now.
I don't like the way Nvidia is pricing its cards in the market now.

So to get a 780 or not to get a 780?
Im thinking of getting one now, and after a few months get another one.
Wait for AMD's Hawaii GPU(s). The effect could be two-fold; cheaper GPU(s) that perform just as well (or better), and a price cut at Nvidia's side.

If you're at 1080p, honestly dual-GPU of any high-end GPUs currently available will be mostly a waste except if you like to use AA in everything. For BF4, it remains to be seen, but I don't think it's going to be much more intensive than BF3. Turn off MSAA in BF3 and see how you hit a CPU bottleneck.

Oh, also, $650 is a ripoff for a GTX780. Especially with the HD7990 at $700. It eats it up. However, quadfiring that beast is just asking for trouble. That's disregarding scaling issues that start showing up with 3 cards (Microstutter on AMD's side up till now, Nvidia's tri-SLi largely unexplored) and that are particularly a problem with 4 cards.
650$? it's 755$ @pcandparts excluding VAT .
Ill do all the buying from here , specifically from pcandparts, if you are talking about abroad prices .

Its not only for BF4, i started playing Borderlands 2 recently,at some points of the game, there have been periods of 30 seconds-1 minute ,where i was playing @ 15-20 fps !! And im using the optimized game settings with Geforce Experience.

That says it all to me, its time to get a more powerful one. Or two !

Then its best to wait for the upcoming AMDs , see the price difference and stuff, maybe even game bundles (i doubt it will be available here though).
And then make my mind.
Dude...no.

What you're experiencing with Borderlands 2, even people with Titan SLi experience. You might be CPU bottlenecking in those areas as parts of the game are troublesome for everyone. OR you might have PhysX set to High, which causes those FPS drops on anything.

So don't rush into hasty decisions because you might as well have wasted $1500 for nothing for a troubled game.

Always troubleshoot. If you don't know what's happening, ask.

Does anybody know where to get the 780 ? Or do we still have to wait ?
PCandParts USED to have them like less than a week ago for ~$700 and above.
oh my god,
They have gone NA? but they are still on (soon-pre order) stage, how can they be out of stock already?
Where am i gonna get a couple for myself now?
pcandparts had the MSI , not the Inno3D , same referance card like macrotonics for like 830$ TTC .
avolio, don't you have a 670 in your pc?
Yes.
I got a new 3D TV also, so i will soon get two 780s to start 3D Gaming.
which 3D tv did you get? (full model number) ?
AVOlio wroteYes.

make sure your 3D TV is compatible with Nvidia's 3D TV Play (which you need to purchase). Also, 3D gaming using TV is limited to 1080p@24fps or 720p@60fps (due to HDMI limitation), so 2 780s are overkill. I have 1 GTX 780 and I run mdoern games at ultra settings at 720p stable 60fps in 3D.
Note that 3D TV's have terrible ghosting. If you want a ghost free experience, you should use DLP projector (or TV, if you can still find one). Or get a 3D Vision certified monitor (not TV) Asus make the best ones, plus on a monitor you can play @1080p without the HDMI limit (although you're limited with the size of the monitor 27" max I think).

Edit: and make sure you go to helixmod.blogspot.com for S3D game fixes
Have fun :)
