I'm curious. Was it invented in Lebanon? I mean, why is it called Lebanese?
Its name comes from its regular use amongst Lebanese financial crime perpetrators
So that's a yes :P
hahaha this is just stereotyping
Lebanese ingenuity despite its in the wrong place....but you can be proud of the idea not of the way it has been implemented.

not really a stereotype ... it was first used by Lebanese immigrants outside of lebanon to commit fraud (something a lot of lebanese still do in most parts of the world especially Canada and Australia)
