Anybody knows a place in Lebanon were I can buy a Nexus 7 ?
KingOmar
It is not yet available in Lebanon.
Beej
it launches 12/7, so its tomorrow i think?
In anycase, usually takes 2-4 weeks for a tech to pop in lebanon, unless its special.

@KingOmar & rtp: Do not worry guys once it rolls out in the “U.S Market” which is in the next few days, I can work this out for you.
Metalloy
@Tarek, it will be exclusively availble to you in lebanon being an asus dealer?
another thing, how much do you estimate the price will actually increase in here?
taekh3
@Metalloy: Yeah man, since it is an “ASUS Product” mostly; however concerning the price, do not worry it will be fair because rumor prices already suggested a “200$ for the 8GB Model” & “250$ for the 16GB Model”. Anyway, i will keep you posted guys.
Cheers.

yea its made by samsung and asus so its limited to thoses two i guess. Hope its cheap, its a great tablet with one flaw, no sd card...
On the upside, 60fps anyone?!?!

Can i transfer ebooks to it via usb or something ?
Metalloy
i wouldnt call it a flaw, they had to sacrifices to keep the tablet as cheap as possible, and you have 2 options, the 8gb for the casual web surfers or small apps, and the 16gb is well more then good enough for most consumers ( most of us already have our media files in the phone) and lets not forget theres no back camera, meaning that you cant consume your memory as fast as you do with your phone ( photos and videos captured by the cam are usually the most consuming disk space wise)
Rtp: yes you can, bleutooth or Usb, or directly dowbload books to it.

I dont think it has a usb port but it can be connected to the pc so yea, correct me if i am wrong, also there is an application i got runnin on my GSIII, its called websharing lite. It gives you an http adress and a password, you access ur pc ,note transfere files on network so pc and tab must be on same wifi, and you transfere files like that.
Its simple really, also since its tegra 3 then you dont have to worry about games not running at all, or lacking a few graphical features. Though tegra 3 based games can be bypassed, but you need to root your device and inject 3d patchs.
Still i love the ipad for its games advantage, but with this price and hopefuly good price at ROG, i am having 2nd thoughts, ALOT of em.
Android 4.1 is my selling point, as its a major overhaul, not just a small update. Although the update is comming to the galaxy, still i have a feeling that it will take a while.

android 4.1 is already being pushed to galaxy nexus OTA.
I am really interested in the Nexus 7 i think 7 inch the best size for an every day tablet, combine that with great specs and a 200$ price tag.

am really considering getting it,it seem like a great deal, and being a current nexus user i know how different the nexus android experience from normal android experience,i mean my nexus s is getting jelly bean while the galaxy s that have almost the same specs lost support with gingerbread.plus the very good price and good hardware.
lallous_87
I already had my cousin pre-order one from USA... yeeey! it's coming out in a few days, and he's coming in ten days!
Beej
@lallous_87: Its great to have people on the outside :). Looks like we will have you to be our first "lebgeeker" with the tablet. Sadly us other lebanese will have to wait a few more weeks...
The-MMMs
as far as i know, it was just launched is USA and Canada - may take a while to get over here; if the 16GB will sell around the 250$ mark then so be it !

T3 Middle East had this to say about pricing and release of the Nexus 7:
"Although costing less in the old continent, we expect the Nexus 7 tablet to retail at around $249 for the 8 GB version, and $320 for the 16 GB model once they hit our Middle-Eastern shores. This putts it in the same price bracket as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 ($313) and the Amazon Kindle Fire ($199). You can pre-order the Nexus 7 from Google play now and could ship by July 19th according to the latest report."

I dunno. One of the big selling points for the Nexus 7 is the price, and it gets a little padded as it makes its way to our shores (PS Vita visions happening again). It still puts this tablet well below other brands' price, just not as much. Before it was announced, I'd almost decided on the Sony tablet S, but day by day I'm thinking this one is overall better price/power ratio.

$250 for the 8GB ... that's 25% increase from the original price O.o

Its not that bad rtp really, vat alone is 20$s. Add shipping and all that and the guys are barely making 20$ profit.
Judging by our lebanese price standards and experience, i would buy this tab as long as its lower than 300$, yes there are alot of competition in this price range. But cmon, just google ot youtube icecream sandwich vs jellybean and you will see what i mean.
Question, do watssup, tango, viber work on this tablet? Or it needs a sim card?

your right if they buy it at $200... but shouldn't like sellers buy like 50 of them and get a discount or something of that sort... that's why we buy from sellers because its cheap... if i will get it for the same price what is the point of sellers then...
