Hybrid wroteI went to Ogero to apply, I was a bit late ("sandou2 sakkar")... but anyway, they told me that after I pay, I should take the router to Mina El hosn... and it will take 2 months and a half to get the internet up and running..
Any idea why I should go to Mina El hosn?
they activate the ADSL line from there when they get your modem, and create for you an account and password for your plan. Its not just setting up the modem.
Although its such a hassle for us experienced users, but for the ignorant when it comes to this stuff its actually a better way of doing things. Its more likely one us will know how to set up the modem rather than teta. you don't hear jiddo saying "adeh el ping la europe 3endak?" xD

Hey, several questions here:
1) the 40GB (24 000LL) ogero plan is supposed to offer a 2 Mbps download speed, however when I check my monthly consumption, I am surprised to see this
"Connection speed (download / upload): 1024 Kbps/256 Kbps"
Is this explainable or should I report this?
PS: I have no idea if speedtest.net is reliable or not but here are my results
Ping: 324ms, Download speed: 0.42Mbps , Upload speed: 0.10 Mbps *sigh*
2) Bandwidth is being eaten up overnight , I've changed my password several times, however, every night , 2 GBs are consumed, and I am barely using my PC, let alone my phone.
3)Can you switch to another server by yourself? or does Ogero have to do it? (I read in the Cyberia post that there are gaming servers that are way faster, with less latency and better pings, no idea if this is available for Ogero as well). Will changing the channel in my router settings do any good?
Sorry for all these questions but the operators at ogero are being very rude and not helpful at all, the only response I get for every single questions is "Taffi 10 minutes w byemshe el hal"

Not an ogero user yet, but I can tell you the above about Cyberia is not correct anymore. Their gaming servers used to be good around a year ago. Unfortunately, it's crap now, specially after 5pm

1)It's the "your line doesnt support 2mbps" crap.
2)This is really weird. Try going to your router settings and check each device packets sent/received or consuption. Find which one is using so much bandwidth
3)i heard you had to turn it off for 10min. And channel is not related to this.
Larsa
Alright Thank you Georges, for #2, where should I look in my router settings, I can't seem to find it. I found the total packets sent/recieved but not for individual devices

So I just went to Mina El Hosn today, and gave them my router, they said they will call me in 3 weeks and give me the router back. You think it might take less than that? or longer?

Not less my friend,,, not less.
it's fine, i passed through this period, but after that, you will have a better connection.

Hi, I've been comparing the ping during the summer and now, and there's been an increase of 10-20ms, for example I play on some NL servers in an online game I used to get around 90 now I get around 110 (I wasn't in lebanon between august and december so I don't know how this decline evolved) why so?
also I always wanted to check my Line stats and go to my router configuration page but whenever I type in the default gateway I don't get anything, not even a pop-up for the log in, It seems blocked.
The router is a Zhone 6519-W1.

So I've applied to Ogero after changing from Sodetel. I used to get 2 mpbs+ but when Ogero did the test they told me it can't go higher than 1 mbps on my line. The receipt from Ogero even says UNLIM-1M/512U instead of 2M. Has anyone experienced something like this when changing to Ogero? Did your unlimited plan end up getting to 2M even though they told it would be less?

my ping is very unstable also for the last two week it goes from 150 ms while playing dota to 1000 ms and back to 150 ms.I don't know if it's from my line or it's from ogero but it's really annoying.

Nothing unusual on my side
I'd recommend making sure that there's nothing on your network using the bandwidth, also make your ping to your modem is stable as well.

Raficoo wrotesnipped, too long
my pc is the only thing connected to my router and iam not DL`ing anything or have any other web activity, ping to router is 1ms stable
edit: turns out my ping to router is mimicking my ping spikes, but only going from 1ms to ~180ms, any idea what`s the problem?

I keep disconnecting for the past 2-3 weeks.. anyone facing this issue?? I have the 2mb limited plan.. i've tried 3 routers all of them the same result.. and is it normal for the ping to reach 800-1000ms when i'm downloading ???

@mher11
if you are using a download accelerator, probably yes...

Well, opening facebook and a mmorpg while testing your ping isn't the best idea.

Same here without a download accelerator...

@mher11 @Sab23,
Do you have iphones / iPads with iCloud backup set to ON?
if yes, this is iCloud backup consuming your upload, happens a lot with me, ping becomes like 1 second.
mher11
No i'm not using download accelerator ... and no iphones/ipads... for example if i download something from play store the ping gets up to 1000ms to google servers even when someone opens fb or streams video my ping gets upto 400-500ms.. so is it normal or no??? Without download or stream my ping is between 25-30 ms to google servers
