@hkbazzi, i had the same issue, they told me 2 months,,,,, yes 2 months to configure a silly modem, but we managed to talk with the president Mr Abdel Meneem Youssef, and it took 2 days, yes 2 days :)
So good luck my friend...

@ironman I think you understood them wrong.
The two months period that they told you, maybe was the period of the installation and preparations of the DSL on your number.
And after that was done, they would bring the modem for you, and install it.
Because why would you need a configures modem, if the DSL is not ready in your line yet?

I sometimes wonder if they do it manually with a crank or something.

No Bro,
After applying for the DSL subscription and waiting around 4 weeks, they told me that i should take my modem to be configured (since i had a modem from my previous provider (sodetel),
so after taking the modem and waiting for 3 hours there, they told me that it needs 2 months to be configured (my father was there) if i was there, i would throw the modem in their face.
Good luck guys

Hello,
Let's say I decide to subscribe to Ogero today, how much time does it take for the subscription to become active considering I already have the modem/router I wanna use and dont want to use the one they will send me?
PS: (considering I want to configure it myself as well)

Hello EzikMezik,
My situation was the same as yours now, i was with Sodetel, and i stopped my subscription with them, then i applied for Ogero, they said they need 10 days to verify my line, after those 10 days you need to apply by going to the "Centrale", there is no expected date, they took around 3 - 4 weeks in my case, after that, I CALLED THEM (they didn't), they told me that i need to take my modem so they configure it, at Mina el Hosn, i went there, and they told me that it would take around 2 months, yes 2 months to configure the modem (because it is not the usual modem, and they are so busy).
Good luck.
EzikMezik
@ironman
I dont understand, why can't I configure it myself without taking it to them?

@EzikMezik because they don't give you the PPPOE Password...
@hkbazzi we know someone who contacted him, of course i don't know him in person .... and i really don't want to ....
@ballad, do you think that the person who challenges the Minister of telecommunications accepts visits from random people like us? it's Lebanon my friend.
@Everyone oh and by the way, don't waste your time contacting the Complaints Office at the Ministry of Telecommunications, because they would tell you,,, it's normal the process needs 2 months...

Ogero are not willing upgrade to 2 Mbps. They said my line can't handle, whilst I'm 3.5 KM far from the central and the syncs show that I could get better speeds :S

Your line attenuation is way too high, way too high! Probably you can barely handle 2mbps.. Try checking the wiring or connecting the modem directly to the phone box instead of going through the wiring at your house since that may be the issue.

Hope I'm posting this in the correct section.
My landline in Sawfar has been deterriorating in quality over the year to the point were it stopped working completely a couple of months ago. So I called ogero at 1515 and registered the fault through their automated system. A couple of days later I find a sticker posted on my door by ogero saying that they tested the box and the problems seems to be internal.
I got an electrician to change the wire from my sockets to the box, but still no luck. The electrician assured me that there is no signal (voltage) coming through my line and it's on Ogero's side.
I passed by the Central in Sawfar not once, not twice but three times. Each time they tell me they're gonna send a team but no one shows up (it's been like this for a month).
Does anyone have a contact number to someone who actually gives a shit at Ogero?
ILIA_93
Call 1515, a record a complaint. It seems the people at the central are the usual coffee drinking chit-chat kind of employees, like most other employees in this state. I think calling 1515 will give you better results, I've tried it, and they usually send a technician in a week. You said that it worked for you too. So try calling 1515 again.

how long do you think it will take for me to change ISPs from IDM to Ogero? i called IDM this morning and talked to them about my speeds, they told me they would try and see what's happening and call back . never heard of them since. i am going to call again tmrw and if they dont do something about my 30-40 kbps speed and give me what i am paying for, i will seriously consider changing to Ogero

It will take about 2 months to switch from an ISP to another (IDM to Ogero in your case).
You need first to unsubscribe with your current ISP and ask for the release attestation.
After that you are free to apply to any other ISP. From there it takes two months (unless you have "WASTA" :P)
