Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 15,5 / 30,5

SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 32,0 / 32,0

Hoping there won't be a FUP on unlimited next month :)!
dude what, I live at the very beginning of Abra(when you're going up the road) and this are my stats

Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 24,5 / 44,5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 31,0 / 21,0

Seeing others who live very close to the central still don't have 2mbit/s you must be lucky or something.

hmm did your line parameters change by any chance through the last week(indicating a change in wires or anything)?
Yeah I actually had a problem until today, there was a problem with the wires in my house though. Got that was fixed and I got back the full speed.

But I was getting pretty terrible stats before this fix, so I recommend you guys if it looks like you have bad Attenuation/SN, check the wires or get someone to do it, and it might fix the issue.
so has anyone changed their basic plan ?.... personally i chose the unlimited plan, what about you ?
Doesn't matter with the wires. It's like either having internet connection or not. I don't expect fixing or changing the wires will upgrade speed...
Salah wroteActually I live in Saida, and I got my speed upgrade a few days ago, 4 or 5 days ago. It was 1~Mb at the beginning of July, and now it's 2.

What's your connection speed according to your modem?
2mbps should effectively provide 1.75-1.8mbps, due to overhead.
Guys what is line Attenuation and SNR Margin?
And how can I check mine?
I have Thomson TG585 router.
Go to 192.168.1.254 enter user/user combination. From there you could change password, see intruders if any...
As for line stats you search for the pppoe connection and click it. I forgot where I'm sorry.
Edit sorry didn't reply to the second part of the question: line attenuation is basically how much "signal" you have lost due to distance from CO (lower better) for instance a 20db and less is considered very good !
SNR margin is signal to noise ratio. It's like efficiency for a motor, how much you get devided by how much you lose! So the higher it is the better!
@NuclearVision Yeah I thought so aswell, I was pretty skeptical when the guy was like this could be an issue from these old wires here. However he changed the old ones and the problem was gone. I have no other explanation other than that :P

@trent 1.8mbps I believe.

Edit:@AVOlio It's in DSL connection information, make sure to go to details view to see everything.
Yeah but before I assume you had no internet at all right? Or it was extremely slow.
Changing the wires won't give you and extra half of mbps, I could be wrong though!

As far as I remember , this router model requires you to have admin username and password ( not user user combination ) to reach where the DSL information are and check your line stats , I can't recall any way than this one.

No those ones are the pppoe username / passwords!
Router is user/user
Yeah I did have an incredibly slow connection. I had the same problem just like the other guys 1 or 2 pages ago on this thread. Connection would disconnect every 10-20 minutes, and when it came back it was slower, like 70-80% Slower. But apparently fixing the wire problem fixed that issue.
Yeah exactly, what I trying to say is you already got the upgrade, and other people didn't, not because of their wires. Again i could be wrong who knows ! One can't trust a bug in this country.
Here are mine :

Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 12,0 / 19,5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 31,5 / 34,5
NuclearVision wroteSNR is good, line attenuation is bad.
Actually those line stats are very very good. Line attenuation the lower the better , high attenuation is bad.

Oh sorry my bad, you're right!
Anyone getting speeds that are lower than usual today ?
Please go to www.speedtest.net and compare your result today to previous ones.

Nothing unusual here. I was doing some downloads around noon and was getting the usual 220k/s on 2mbps I always got.
Some of mine changed
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 11,0 / 19,5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 33,0 / 36,0
