I have a brand new modem and the same issue , it's not a local thing

I haven't had any issues on Ogero since July 1st, except for one afternoon when I saw signs of congestion (could have been work at my CO) for 4-6 hours max. No disconnections, no slow downs.

The problem is not from the modem i checked by connecting my laptop directly to the modem the internet worked fine. The problem is from the router thtas why iam guessing it a hardware fault but it fishy it occured exactly when the update happened
Salah
Yeah it's getting incredibly annoying. So you guys think it's most likely a router issue?
I mean this thing only started happening when they made those so-called Internet speed upgrades, that of which have yet to even reach everyone.

Well it seems most of the country's south internet users(including myself) have been without internet for a few hours due to a "cut cable that links the capital to the south"(as my friend tells me)... Makes me wonder how long we'll be out
EDIT: It just came back online!
nuclearcat
Yes, correct, 3G and ISPs at south was out too.
NuclearVision
@nuclearcat is that why my cable internet has been switching to (LIBTEL occasional)? I noticed internet was slow so I did a who-is for my public ip and noticed a different company name.
nuclearcat
NuclearVision - it depends on ISP, many private companies have independent backup channels, so they were not down. But sure they used another IP range.

Well I noticed several people here claiming they got their accounts "visually" upgraded to 2mbits on the consumption page but not the actual speed delivered just yet. I live in Kab-Elias , Bekaa and haven't even got "visually" upgraded yet , it still shows till now 1024kbps/256kbps .. I checked couple of friends and neighbours around here and noone got upgraded either , everyone still on 1mbit. Any idea if this means anything ( like speed upgrade will be gradual starting from Beirut then hitting other areas later on ) or it's something with no importance for now ?
Prince
I used to Live in Ghobrieh Visual upgrade is not done too but i can't test it because am in Senegal
Speed: 1024 Kbps/256 Kbps
mohammadk97
Also 1024 Kbps/256 Kbps at Saida, Hlaliyeh.
Raficoo
Yep I even asked a friend who lives in Saida about 500m away from the central and he's still 1mbit/s, seems like everyone who had 1mbit/s is still on 1mbit/s(except those with "wasta"), and those who had 2mbit/s before the upgrade are still on 2mbit/s. A week later hopefully they'll start switching the speeds.

Hello guys, something been bothering me for the past month and i cant find any article or post that talks about it.
Have you guys noticed that all the roads in beirut and its surroundings are being digged? I think these are the expected infrastructure upgrade for the internet but i cant seem to find anything that mentions it.
But there is no way that it can be something else. I go to work from fanar via jdeideh dekwaneh achrafieh gemayzeh downtown and finally beirut souks and return from the highway. The road in fanar was dug on the sides for a week. Same in jdeideh near don castillo then in nahr el mot and now on the highway.
Does anyone know anything about the matter?

Same in mid Bekaa , but that's actually electricity lines being put underground in a step to remove the "3awamid" from the roads , mainly to avoid electricity thieves.
Salah
Actually I live in Saida, and I got my speed upgrade a few days ago, 4 or 5 days ago. It was 1~Mb at the beginning of July, and now it's 2.
Raficoo
How far away are you from the central? and if possible how much is your line Attenuation and SNR Margin?
Salah
I live in Hylalieh, so I believe it's 2-3 km.
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 15,5 / 30,5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 32,0 / 32,0
Hoping there won't be a FUP on unlimited next month :)!
