Terranet user here, internet not down however so slow that it might as well be down.
Feedback for Ogero
Hey,
Internet is down in Ashrafieh-Sodeco, i thought it was related to the independence day security measure or something, apparently not.
The Ogero 1515 automated message says that it will be back online in 12 hours. Hard luck on a day off i guess.

Back to high ping. It works for a day or two then increases again for a week.
*Edit: having a lot of ping request timed out replies and sometimes "concentrator not reachable" in my modem's webpage.

What is the average CRC errors you have with interleaving off? I am have in the thousands like 5000 downstream crc errors, I want to see if it's because of my lines or just the result of disabling interleaving.

Something really weird is going on with Ogero. Either they are the ones causing it or Lebanon's international provider is the reason behind it.
My ping to Google DNS server (8.8.8.8) has been in the 100ms range for the past week. A few minutes ago, I lost connectivity for a couple of minutes and, when the Internet resumed, my ping to that same IP dropped down to the 50ms range (this is the normal ping I used to have).
Again, 5 mins later it increased back to 100ms.
Every time it drops or increases I lose connectivity in whatever I am doing, downloading, online gaming, etc... It feels as if the connection is being switched back and forth.

I hate to nag and repeat myself and I can live with the fact that ping/latency with Ogero has doubled lately (it was around 48ms to 8.8.8.8.... now it's around 98ms).
But the annoying thing is what I mentioned in my previous thread and it happened again now.
I was playing WoW and I got disconnected. I immediately checked my ping to some known servers and all replies were dead. Shortly after the connection and ping resumed but at the original low latency of 48ms. Ten minutes later I got disconnected again and when the connection resumed, once more, ping was back to 98ms.
What on earth is going on ? I don't mind having a higher ping but it's the frequent disconnections that are so annoying. It's as if the connection was being re-routed.

Thats how BGP works and latency over links to cypris vs imewe is quite different.
They are lowering costs, keeping gamers on specific channels will cost them significantly more, they might eventually do more stable solution, but at current moment i highly doubt, i expect channels priority will change dynamically.

Thank you Nuclearcat for the reply.
I had some doubts something like this was happening. But this is rather recent. Any reason why they started doing it now ?

Thats how bandwidth are balanced over bgp

Yes but I have been with Ogero for years and never faced such a problem. Why now ?
And why would they switch us for 10 mins to switch us back again ?
And what does BGP stand for ?

I guess because load grows and old ways they used no more feasible.

Provided what you are saying is what's really happening, shouldn't this be a smooth transition ? If ISPs all around the world do it... does that mean their gamer subscribers will keep getting disconnected every time this happens ?
