I'm not cynical. Whatever Microsoft added, it's obvious that they grafted it on top of their old platform, and they always did.

Okay, that might not prove much, but it's still Microsoft Windows.
By the way, I did not think you are gullible, I'm just saying that what MS probably will be marketing.
I am aware that all my argumentation is not supported by many references, as i'm not really into Windows development and such, yet I believe in it.
Metro is a really nice thing but where it hurts is how it is power inefficient, and HTML/Javascript is really a good idea but again, you can't have everything, and it's going to eat up all your battery, especially if it's full of fancy animations.
