OK so I installed Windows 8 x86.
Couple of things:
The OS is not practicable for a desktop or any other type of PC's. It is very nice for tablets or smart phones.
They made the UI be like an Xbox 360 software. The "Windows Look" is now dead.
The installation is fairly easy and fast (Nothing different compared to Windows 7 installation)
However they did change the Setup as you can see here:
This is the second screen you get after clicking next:
You have to input your email account and even confirm it with a cellphone text massage (However when I chose Lebanon and entered my number it told me that it was invalid so I just clicked next)
Then it started to prepare itself.
After this it asked me to enter my Emails password to log on (This is how you log on to your PC)
Then it opens the new Metro UI:
You can always use your desktop as well but you always have to manually click on the "Desktop" picture.
As you can see, there is no Start Menu/Aura. You have to put your cursor at the edge of your screen and then an image comes up showing the Metro UI (Which is very hard to click)
The Windows Explorer is also changed. It now looks like Microsoft Office (2007 and up). You can also notice the new HDD icon.
What I also noticed is that Windows 8 under-clocks your CPU so that it saves energy. Under properties of "Computer" I can see that my CPU has been under-clocked from 3.06 GHz to 2.94GHz
What I also noticed is that all of the games that are included with Windows now are connected to Xbox Live.
So that's my review of Windows 8.
-I don't think it's suitable for PC-s (But would be awesome on a tablet or smart phone)
-The UI and other apps need to be cached on the first run to run smoothly, and they are VERY similar to the Xbox 360 software UI.
-It will be very hard for users to migrate to Windows 8. I really hope they don't kill of Windows 7.
If you have any questions please ask them and I will provide you with an answer (I got Windows 8 on a Virtual Machine)
