So, back to the book thingy... I want to get a new book to read. However, I want this to be by an all-Lebanese author. I don't want books that are 50-page one-liners, or small short paragraphs by an almost-author. I want something stimulating, anything good. Maybe a drama or a murder case, a love story, anything... Doesn't have to be a story; it could be something enlightening and educational. Are there such books here?

It's a classic, but I strongly recommend 1984. I loved that book.

Oh sorry Nabs, I didn't realize you asked for a Lebanese author. (1984 is a classic dystopian fiction written by an englishman called George Orwell. It's about politics, sociology, love, mystery, rebellion and controlling your thoughts via language, like @eWizzard is doing in the post above yours).

As for Leb authors, if you like history and read in French, definitely check out Amin Maalouf's books. You can start by the famous one: Le rocher de Tanios.
