Besides cooling HP's are known to have battery problems as well, the battery dies due to overcharging. When you leave the battery on charge for more then 3 months with minimal usage it will die.
There are several other problems that are found on HP laptops.
The only advantage I have found so far is that HP laptops are just stylish and nothing more.

I will give you a very simple example of why a reseller, HERE in Lebanon, cannot give you such competitive prices as YOU demand (he'd have to break even to do that, no profit, just an NPO handing out stuff as presents). When a store provides you with a warranty, and quoting from the guy himself: "If you took the system to Afghanistan, and the Taliban BOMBED your house, and nothing was left of it, and your system was not running, I would replace the defective parts", it means that he has to consider the cost of shipping them back himself to the parent company, something which that company is NOT responsible for, and considering a mere graphics card had to cost pcandparts $60 to ship it to the parent company for repairs (it turned out not to be defective in the end, after I did some troubleshooting on my side), just guess how much it costs for a laptop to be shipped! Do you know that after he had ordered a specific order with 2 power supplies, the customs held his 2 power supplies (they were high-end, we're talking Antec / Corsair here!), and he had to leave them in order to take the rest of his order??
