Yesterday it got bricked. I had ROM manager install a new ROM, it asked if I wanted to restart , I pressed OK and since then it never turned on again.
The PC is recognizing it as a USB modem.
I tried the Power+Volume dwn + Home method but it didn't work
I tried the battery method
I tried the Odin method (when you manually flash a ROM)
Today I took it to 007 cell and he told me it will cost me 30$ to fix. I don't have 30$ right now and I really need my phone.
Can anyone please suggest me some other methods to un-brick the phone ?

Thanks a lot.

Can anyone recommend me a shop at least ?
I dont know any shop ,but learn that you should never install roms from the Rom Manager.

Any comments about the Ace? big difference with Galaxy S? thinking of buying one..
jadabz wroteAny comments about the Ace? big difference with Galaxy S? thinking of buying one..
The S is better than the Ace, but the Ace is newer and smaller and the front face is identical to the SII.
Here are the links of both phones: Galaxy Ace
Galaxy S Hoppin. Also check the Galaxy SII.
Note that the Galaxy Ace is almost half the price of both S and SII phones.
I bricked my nexus s once, but I managed to fix it (the hard way).
If I remember correctly I had to install google android sdk and tools.
then manually connect to the phone (phone should still be able to go into bootloader/fastboot mode).
then manually fastboot recovery img.
well hopefully i still have the right correct technical names cuz i m an iphone user now.
anyways hope this helps, if not try xda forums, they helped me a lot.
there is nothing as a permanent brick with android, I played with it a lot, flashed wrong roms, part of roms, radio, lost signals, etc and always managed to fix it :)
Try cellular 2000 next to abraj if you cant fix it yourself.ask for a guy named bob
i have the same problem...bricked my ace in backup rom in rom manger...sent it to nearby shop couldn't fix it..sent it to Samsung service care they said the board needs replacement and it costs around 200$...nothing appears on my screen wen charging or trying the usb jig..in odin shows wen its connected and odin turns yellow yet the firmware installation stops at the beginning ..dunno if there is a solution other than board replacement which is similar to the phones brand new price of 290$..

It's not the board if your PC is recognizing it, furthermore a software can not kill a board.
It's a simple software corruption but it's hard to fix.
My sister took it to this shop and he said the CPU needs to be replaced, I laughed at him and purposely said him to fix it so that I can see him be wrong.

My phone is still at the repair,
Word of advice : Always get warranty no matter how much the difference in price is !

Even with guarantee , the company will not fix your bricked phone because rooting voids the warranty of the phone.

Yes but if the phone is bricked they will not know what you have done to it , you can just simply claim that you were "playing a game" and it suddenly "turned off", they will give you a completely new one.

I'd write you a quick summary of what u shld do but im rly busy, your main goal should be to flash the custom recovery.

Do parts "C", "G", then "H"

But please be careful with part C as it is very risky, go over the whole guide though do your research :P

You're doing something wrong, or you did something wrong while flashing the spf file causing a brick

But the most probable cause of what you're facing is that you are still using the stock spf while booting an unsigned ROM

It is highly possible that your phone is booting far enough to do all the steps mentioned above but the screen doesn't show, this is true for many phones.

I have read many articles at xda where people did that
i might be able to unbrick it
Hey i don't know if this will help you but i had a similar problem with a galaxy tab that came from KSA. My problem with it was that it had a limited version of froyo and comes bundled with useless applications and no android app market. The thing would not turn on after a bad flash and the battery just wouldn't charge (apparently charging is routed through the software which is retarded). Well to make a long story short the only time i saw an activity on screen was when i plugged it into a wall outlet for 5 minutes but as soon as i plug it out it's back to nothing. It just wouldn't hold the charge.

What worked for me was plugging it into the PC and waiting for like 1 hour (ironically the long wait with samsung technical support made me realize it was trying to power on all along) , after which the pc would have given it enough charge to power up even though it's on the software panic screen, after that simply use odin to flash a firmware that is known to work on the device and you're set (i remember there were a couple of other files as well that go along with the firmware but i'll leave that up to you).

I'm pretty sure it's close to what's going on with you. Hope it works.
