I also thought about getting this bike, but I don't think it is safe during fall and winter, rain causes alot of skidding.
this bike looks beast !! i wish i wont have to fight my parents when day when i decide to buy one since they refuse the idea :)
I want to get that bike too ^_^

its the first bike i ever get, so can't help you their man...
250cc is enough I guess, 600cc and 1000cc is just too much. also, some say the Honda CBR250R is definitely worth considering.
i had this bike ... not safe ..check aprilia..better suspension , breaking and terrain control...not as beautiful as the ninja though
Hey dany, 250cc is not powerful and you'll get used to it really fast, and you'll want to go for the 600cc.
I'd suggest you go for 600 from the beginning.

A skywave can outrun you in this thing.

I don't think he'll find anything near 3.500$ at aprilia.

Im not searching to have a race with someone or do moves on it either. I just want a decent good looking bike that can ride me to my university . I dont think i need more than 250 because i only need it to move me from one place to the other! Well it would do good in mountain roads right ? Like going to Faraya for example, would it do 60-70 kmh ? i think it could . please correct me if i'am wrong.
a year later
A used Aprilia RS 125CC 2 stroke MY2009 costs around 3500$ currently. But having 2 strokes gives you hell for maintenance and check ups.
hi dany;

you said you want a bike for going to university. so you should search for a bike that you can put your books and stuff in under the seat. also on manual gear bike in winter, even if it is not raining but there is water on the road, the front wheel will spray water on you up to the knees, you will get to the university all wet.

bro ... take it from someone who has been with motocycles for 15 years, take your time and discuss it with geniune people who already owned bikes, or you will end up with bike that don't satisfy your needs, and if you want to sell it they will take it half price of what you bought it.

this subject for your own sake needs alot of discussion.

regards.
I'm a bit of a bike fan but I've never driven one (save a scooter), yet I read that 250cc is a bit weak - sure it will do the job, but if you're into for fun maybe the weak engine will kill the fun... I hope to get a bike some day and I plan to get one significantly more powerful than 250cc, despite never having tried one. Hope that makes sense!
250cc are fantastic as the video says. I would never consider buying at first a 600cc supersport bike since for me , i have zero experience in riding motorcycles and especially that the drivers here in Lebanon are mad.so if you get home in one piece on a R6, pray that no one hits you from the back and smash you :(
I have seen that very kawasaki parked on a daily in basis in AUB. someone must be doing what you want to do.
You would definitely look badass riding that thing to university but in my opinion, the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.

Think about parking. you need a safe place where it can be locked up tightly especially if you are in Beirut. Forget about riding it in the winter because the rain is a problem but so is the cold wind. My friend owns a bike and refuse to ride it from Salim Salam to downtown because of how cold he gets and that is super close
In my opinion, a bike is something to get as long as you have a car. Otherwise, you would really need to have everything covered in order not to have any worries.
To recap:
parking (home and university)
rain and cold
being the only mean of transportation is inconvenient (think date with a girl, picnic somewhere, far drive, etc...)

You may have everything covered except the weather so really if non of this worries you then i encourage you to get it and simply don't ride it during stormy weather

good luck and sorry if i killed your enthusiasm :). I am all for it but just looking out for what your enthusiasm might not be letting you see.
Well the bike for sure is not for winter and i will never ride it in rain other than sunny days .
Concerning parking, i have a dorm prepared if i go to LAU Byblos so it can be parked safely and the bikes in the university park in front of the main gate in front of the security so that is +1. If i go into NDU, then ill park inside and as for home which is 2 min away, i would park it in a closed garage. Parking is thus secured for now.
As for the only mean of transportation, well we have 3 cars at home and i doubt i will not use one when i need it for something. If i buy a bike, it will not like be my everyday transportation but instead everyday and the other.
I might not be well placed to comment, but it's hard to resist...

Easier to park than a car, but true, it needs to be fastened to something.

Cold air, in Lebanon?? It's all relative, but Lebanon is not a cold country. At all.

Try driving it 40-50km/h when the air temperature is 10c and the wind chill would be somewhere around -1c. Even at 15c which is the regular night time temperature in Beirut during winter and while technically there won't be a wind chill but it would feel like its 5-7c :)

Anyways it does not seem to be a problem since the op has parking taken care of and possess other means of transportation.

go for it dude and enjoy it :D

if it's only 2 minutes to NDU. why don't you walk there? In case you decide to go there.

It's two minutes by car not by foot.
