This game made a lot of buzz around the specs it requires, so who is the lucky one with 50-60FPS on Ultra settings?
Please post your CPU, GPu, and RAM, and your BF3 average FPS you get.
I have Q9550(3.4), GTX460(800/1600/2000), 4GB(1600), all on ultra, except Antialising on 2x, I got average of 50-55FPS inside, 40ish outside, minimum of 30-33 when all the surrounding is f**ked up while I'm turning.....
What do you got? And what are the settings that you use?

What resolution, most importantly?? And I will hopefully post my results soon with my GTX260 OC.
vegetaleb
I have i5,4gb ram and Ati HD4850, if I set everything on Ultra the game is very slow, even on ''suggested'' settings which is a mix of high and low it's not fast :(
I am playing back on xbox360 now, dunno if a Geforce 550 will be much better?
Beej
Vegataleb, a 550 ti is better but not by much... Its a shame to "upgrade" to a 550 from a 4850. A 460 will be much better upgrade.

ouch! Sorry, really sorry, I know the importance of the resolution, I forgot to put it.
Well it's pretty much high (1680x1050), I really like my PC now, I'm sure it'll serve me pretty much very well until I can get an Ivy bridge, and my GTX460 isn't on the highest overclock I got now.
Tarek
Ivy bridge will be available from march 2012...but you should wait for Haswell ( maybe mid 2013 ) instead
vegetaleb
Oh I forgot to say I only run with 1080p because both my monitor and Samsung TV are HDMI fullhd

Did you install the latest drivers from ATI ?
TheStunMan
The performance is great as long as all your drivers is up to date and you have the recommended hardware to run this awesome game!

I'm not thrilled anymore with the frostbite 2, it's an improvement, but didn't worth all this buzz. I can easily say frostbite 1 is equally in quality.
1) Try shoot covers, only the upper part of it is destructible, try shooting a wall, ( surely you'll have to go downward ), it's not completely destructible. in frostbite 1 it was.
2) Dead bodies are dumped from RAM, they didn't add the control to control the number of dead bodies ( Like COD you all complain about, although it's not better ), at least let it go when I turn my back, but nope, I was like: "Hi dead body, " o.O " , WHERE DID YOU GO!!!!"
3) Even with the destructible buildings, bridges, big stuffs, some of them, not all, show an unrealistic physics movement, where it's split to giant blocks, and sliding slowly... Well you have to see it to understand, and I think most of you did. ( When you extract in the chopper in the night ( before the jet mission ), at the end the side of the bridge collapsed in this way , they focused on the buildings much more).
4) Coming to the sound effects, if anyone uses a 5.1 surround, the earthquake, collapsing buildings, don't have a correct sound, and in the jet I barely heard the pilots with all the buzz that was going around.
It's a great game, but I'm just saying the negatives I found in it, apparently we're not in the realism level of gaming that I dreamed of. But I liked the BF3 for placing the M16A3 instead of the M16A4, for avoiding the annoying burst fire mode, and I remember in COD4, the M16A4 was automatic in the campaign, not multiplayer.
But there's more negative sides :D , don't remember them all.

First, apparently you haven't played the multiplayer (where almost everything is destructible). Second, change the audio option to War Tapes - you'll thank me or probably piss yourself from how authentic everything sounds. Also BF was never about being a hardcore simulation, if you want realism your best bet is ARMA then. And Frostbite 2 is a HUGE step forward, of course if you played the damn thing the way it's meant to be played! :)
ILIA_93
For the audio, I'm using war tapes since BFBC2, it's really METAL!!! :p Just throw you off the chair when it explodes, every bullet gives you a feedback in the sub-woofer, but I don't know why I cant get the sound of the earthquake? And similar stuff :/ . Just the sound of breaking glass and concrete....
Frostbite 2 is powering the new NFS the RUN, I saw the trailer, well you'll love when the environment breaks on top of your car ;)
I'm playing ArmA, but in singleplayer is so much lame, with the stupid unresponsive AI, multiplayer is the real deal, I'll get one if I could, or just skip to ArmA III.
P.S: ArmA on Ultra give me 25FPS, BF3 on Ultra give me 40-45FPS, if ArmA used PhysX in it, it would blew BF3 away. ArmA III will do for sure.
For your last sentence, I have one thing to say: *Nvidia*

A healthy read for you guys, so all o us know what to expect...
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/battlefield-3-graphics-performance,3063.html
Ranging from 9800gtx to 4850s to 260 to 460 all the way to 590 and 6990 gpus.
Also the game runs EXACTLY the same with 8cores/6cores/4cores/2cours..etc HT on or off is the same, with off giving better results and less stuttering according to users and reviews himself.
So all of you i3 owners and dual cores rejoice!
And all of you guys who said, ZOMG BF3 Needs 10 cores and dont buy an i3 get an i7...etc Have fun too <:o)~
toxict51
anyone experiencing sound issues like the sound echoing when you play the game runs at 45 fps at high settings but the sound is just unbearable it lags, makes the game unplayable
anyone having this?

Ehm guys, I just tried the game on my Alienware m15x with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M, 8GB Ram not clocked, I'm getting 30fps on LOW !?! Is that normal ? I dont want to hear bullshit about gaming laptops, its running everything from Far Cry, Crysis 2 , and CODs extremely fine ... Also I have the latest drivers , any suggestions ?

I had this when I put on Ultra. I lowered to high and seems to do it much less. Sometimes there is a slight lag in sound, sometimes a lag that makes them repeat twice the sound.
I've been reading the forums of bf3 all morning, seems there are a lot of problems - but this is usual for Battlefield games when they come out. Hopefully they will patch it all up asap and everything will be ok.
Until then just find something to bite on real hard while you play... if you can play.

The GTX 460M seems really similar to the GTX 550Ti (desktop) which is equivalent to a GTX 260 and could easily run the game at medium above 30FPS (easily!) and could even reach high when OCed albeit struggling more, but at stock its average is 30FPS at high. The only thing I could think of now is throttling speeds due to overheating. Check the card's temperatures and speeds while running BF3, preferably on a secondary monitor. Use GPU-Z.
By the way, did you fix the HDMI issue yet, or do you want to fix it?
