  • The new Google phone (Nexus Prime/Galaxy Nexus)

so the event of launching the new Google phone the galaxy nexus and the latest android version aka:"Ice Cream Sandwich" is approaching,it's less than 24 hours from now,the event will start at 19/10/2011 at 10:00 AM Hong Kong time that means 19/10/2011 at 5:00 AM in Lebanon,so set your alarms all geeks,and specially android fans because it's gonna be one hell of a morning :P all the rumors till now says that the new Google phone will have a Super Amoled HD curved glass display,5 MP camera capable of 1080p videos,1.2 GHz dual core CPU.
so i am expecting an 8 MP camera instead of 5 MP,and a 1.5 GHz dual core CPU instead of a 1.2 GHz one (though i will not be disappointed if the CPU is 1.2 GHz but i will be disappointed if the camera is only capable of 5 MP )
so that's it for the rumors.

so what are your expectations from both,the phone and the new OS ?
i personally i cant wait. the 720p curved AMOLED display is a killer, and i dont care about the MP count as long they are using high quality sensor and 1080p video recording
In terms of hardware...nothing new compared to actual Sensation and SGS2
As for the OS it will be ported too
i watched the event today at the morning and i was really impressed by the new ice cream sandwich,as for the phone it's pretty good and the best part is the Super Amoled HD display,i really can't wait to get the ice cream sandwich on my nexus s.though am considering upgrading to the galaxy nexus it seems a good upgrade.

at first i wasn't going to upgrade from my sgs2 as it looked to be nothing major,and the sgs2 would be getting ics built from source by teamhacksung. but unfortunatly, development has slowed down due to some missing gfx/sound drivers. the devs will have to wait until samsung releases a leak,which could not happen. samsung said they will release official ics for the sgs2 sometime in Q1 2012 maybe even q2. on the other hand we'd maybe get the sgs3 sometime in Q2 2012. what do you think? buy the galaxy nexus or wait for the sgs3?
