The-MMMs
i'll be buying Mw3 for both PC and PS3
Battlefield = </3
Sorry DICE and EA - how about you go work on Mirror's Edge 2
i remember when they "cancelled" it (i believe it ill return hence the quotes) then they announced BF3 the next couple of days
So EA,
Kthanksbai (sorry DICE, but stop being sold out by EA)

I'll be getting Battlefield 3, then maybe end up getting Modern Warfare afterwards. But definitely Battlefield 3 first
AvoK95
Graphics = BF3
Story = CODMW3
The-MMMs
if your asking which i will actually BUY then the answer is above
This still doesn't mean i wont walk into my favorite pirate store and buy BF3 for the singleplayer.
although i know what im going to say is sort of one sided and bias, and no im no troll, but you must understand how overhyped the game already is , bf3 (same can be said with MW3 don't get me wrong)
I dunno about you guys, i've already fallen for Battlefield hype too much. Everytime they say this game is going to be the best and what not (with all the trailers and betas and E3/gamescon and all types of coverage), and then it fails to meet expectations (and before you ask i actually own the latest battled bad company 2 ) and yes i BOUGHT this one :P
Regardless though, at the end of the day, i find myself popping in my CoD disc or opening the CoD folder on my desktop.
I know if i get BF3, the same thing will happen all over. It's just preference
But still a warning, i was so disappointed with Bad Company 2 (that doesn't necessarily make it a bad game) but keep in mind if CoD messes up, there will be next year :P With battlefield you'll be living with your 60$ mistake for quite some time :P
That being said, both games will break great sales, receive great reviews, and rack up some seriously gameplay time

I say BF3. Played the Beta & damn it's Good.
Already pre-ordered it on PC.
As for MW3, em meh, I'll get it later, when its on sale on Steam. Probably after 2 years,
The-MMMs
i tried the beta at a friends, i dunno it didn't sink in
I wont go as far as saying that it is the same as BC2 (since it isn't and for the fact the same can be said for CoD anyawy) but i just couldn't fit into the game
i'll try giving this a shot on console (BF3) im sure it will be available for trade in at Nino's sooner or later - but MW3 on release for me.

Please note that the following is not inteded to offend anyone it's just a simple statement of the way i see things :
first off, these are two different games completely
COD : the engine hasn't changed since COD4 and the game is rendered at a low resolution and then upscaled. Yet people are still buying the same recycled game over and over again and activision is doing a profit maximization kind of thing. This game appeals to kids and college frats who aren't really into serious gaming more into just keep shooting and spawning till kingdom comes. Most of my friends who like the game play only this game and have no interest in other "real" games. Online all you hear on the mics are kids and "douchebabgs" and some modes may be fun it's not my type of game. Smalls maps and constant respawn makes you feel like a little rat inside a cage
BF3: the new engine is a masterpiece and the graphics are amazing, this is warfare at it's finest ... the scale of things is very rewarding and the team based approach to winning is key. Unlike COD your actions reflect on your squad (not team) and keeping together and helping your squad ends up being highly rewarding in the end. I do agree that EA are dicks and their services are shit but please keep in mind that the developers cannot be blamed for the publisher's actions. However i'd still take EA over activision any day
In the end it all boils down to taste. You could prefer fast action and shooting with not real goal and strategy and that's not a bad thing. But i like my FPS huge and strategic thus BF3 is my choice
ILIA_93
Both for 3$ :D
But for online multiplayer, of course it will be Battlefield <3 .
Chup
MW3 fo' shoooooooo
toxict51
thx for the replies guys really good replies. it has always been different opinions between the 2 games.
@unforgiven
i respect what you said its totally true, totally beleivable, i mean frostbite 2 engine can even beat cryengine 3 for graphics. and BF3 wont run on windows xp so no dx9.
im gunnna get em both for pc but ill be the first to hit the store on october 25/26.
as for MW3 its a cool game it never gets old, the story is amazing as for the iwengine its still the same the same requirements for all cod games, ill get it but for multiplayer ill play BF3 non stop
mohammadk97
MW3 all the way! :)
TheStunMan
There's no logic comparing two games that are not out yet and it really shows how some are trying to express their fanaticism and it fails all the way.
Battlefield 3 or in general battlefield are made for war games, squads, friends, tactics etc...
While cod games are made to pick a random gun and start shooting and its shows how much an individual has a skill while bf there's no way to win if ur squad sucks.
I'm a cod fan all the way but this time dice made a great experience for gamers (playing the beta) with the new upcoming bf3 while mw3 will be a great game for sure (hoping) but it has a different flavor that you can get with the old cod games already.
As for me i will be getting both but for mw3 i will wait patiently for the price to drop off or get a good deal im not in a hurry to buy this game.

@thestunman
i respect what you said but many people do compare games they play the demos and then compare or predict what the game might be.
thats a nice overclock for your i7 is it stable?what temp?
shant
seeing that bf3 is optimized like sh*t and requires some extreme video cards in sli, i say...f*ck bf3, im getting cod!

fair enough :)

I decided to take a break from FPS games and hence i wont be picking neither BF3 nor MW3. I will instead spend my time on the likes of Batman, Uncharted 3, etc.....
chosen2k
Easy I'm buying both, since they're franchises worth playing.
So it's BF3 && MW3
Beej
@ shant:
Isnt this what we want? To push our hardware to its limit?
BF3 is NOT unoptimized, on the contrary. Having high gpu demand or system demand is different when you already have that system and yet the game is unplayable, like GTA4.
Cod is known engine, and you will play it maxxed out no doubt. But BF3 is intriguing, yes you will not be able to max it out. But you can lower AA and remove SSAO and a couple of things (btw setting in the final game are different than beta), and still be able to enjoy better graphics than the competition while having smooth gameplay.
My opinion on these games is this: I buy MW3 just because its a trend, its like iphone, 1 person/friend buys it then all other buy it and i have to buy it to play with them. But BF3 is my own personal choice.
But i will not buy either untill i see stable, fast, cheap internet conection. Its a waste for $ to buy them and not play online.
P.S. Am tired of buying 2000 LL games :(.
The-MMMs
I can see your point of view Beej
but I get like 120ms ping (PC of course) with CoD4
A cousin of mine owns BlackOps, the latest cod reiteration, and he gets anywhere between 120-150ms max
I play on a highly modified version of MW2 for PC (alterIW) and they have hacked it to get dedicated servers and im anywhere between 110ms and 140ms in EU servers on it (i get like 70ms on Lebanese servers, yes they exist)
I use Ogero DSL so it makes sense
but i still see where your going with this. I have a 2GB Battlefield BC2 Update, and i can't play the game anymore since it's out of the question updating, and the general 60mb updates that i get for CoD on the console (much more for the PC) is getting on my nerves.
