Why don't you go with cyberia?

I think cyberia is a bit expensive terranet's 70 GB plan seems reasonable, what do you guys think?

Because I came from Cyberia. They were worse.
MohMokdad wroteThey can't, by any matter, stall you from unsubscribing.
Just call them and simply unsubscribe. It would be great to tell them that you're planning to subscribe to a better ISP.
Don't forget the release form.
Cyberia told me I had to go to their office to physically fill out papers. After a week of trying to find their office, I called back and asked if it was possible to do it by email. They said it was, so I did and sent it back. After a month of waiting, I called back and they told me I had to print it out, write it by hand, sign it, and then send it back, so I did. Then it took them a whole month to send it to Ogero and another month for Sodetel to resubscribe me. And every time I called Cyberia, they gave me as little information as possible.

Looool and I thought I was the only one having trouble with Sodetel
I have the unlimited internet 1.5Mbps I CANNOT play a single online game in counter strike global offensive on STEAM the game does not let me queue it says"a very high ping" same for dota2 ... youtube doesnt stream anything except for videos on a maximum of 240p and the download speed is 40-50K max and from 7pm till 12 the speed is 20 :P
so I guess the FUP is on
whenever I call their tech support they say: "we are not facing any internal issues and there are no restrictions on the internet the problem is on all ISPs and it is a global problem hitting the internet over Lebanon" now this issues started happening from mid december and is up till now
and when targeting the question: "why do you keep FUP on users when we aren't already getting our full speed and it is already a half speed internet which I rate it at 512kbps the answer is the internet problem in Lebanon is global and affecting everyone"
so any feedback on this issue? are you guys having the same problem? and does anyone know when the internet issue gets fully resolved?
AvoK95
I'm having the same problem with worse speed.
I'd send a speedtest, but it won't work..

i have the same problem and every time i call support they tell me that they have implemented a new FUP policy where you get FUPed according to the previous month's consumption, and it doesn't matter if you download 30 GB/month or 60 GB/month. if your downloads are in a short period of time you'll get FUPed ( last month i consumed only 30 GB with an average of 1 GB a day, except for one day where i downloaded about 3 GB and now im FUPed and its been like that since december). When i told them that it doesn't make sense they told me that you can switch to the limited plans that doesn't have FUP.
I'm really considering terranet's 70 GB plan.

So I've run speedtest about 5 times and the results are 0.10 mbps download speed as the max number and 0.6 as the minimun of the 5 runs
with a 500-562 ms ping
so a 1.5 mbps plan going down to 0.10 i prefer going back to dial up or get a cable connection from near network cafe that guarantees an unlimited 512kbps for 10 000
after contacting the company to unsubscribe they said my quota is 50gb till now
so unlimited is just a marketing word to tell "that we wont cut your internet but we will get you back to dial up speed during the day"
when stating the problem has been happening to me starting from mid december and i was only on 28-30gb of quota
they said then go to other plans that do not suffer the FUP

I have the DSL-4M2-SO package and facing the same issue...
So it's not a limited / unlimited package thing.
I called the support they said the problem is from Ogero and they do not know when it will be fixed.
Marvelous ain't it?
ironman
man its the same SHIT, they blame ogero, and guess what, Ogero's connection is FINE !
user
Sodetel canned responses:
1) We don't know (I got that a few times)
2) Buy a new router(my router was fine)
3) It's normal sir (the 500 ms latency is normal)
4) It's ogero's fault.
Don't bother calling 1278 support, just pick one of the above.
ironman
Exactly :)
the coolest is #3
the 500 ms latency is Normal, this response makes me mad
Nemesis-301
I just called support to ask why I always get 0.8mb on my 1.5mb unlimited plan, and they said that its ogeros fault, and everyone's unlimited connection is 1mb now and they don't know when it will be fixed....is this true? is everyone out there with the unlimited plan getting 1mb, instead of 1.5mb?
ghattas-akkad
good your getting 0.8-1mb i have a 0.6 max connection speed with a 550ms latency
and I really think that this is not ogero's problem but Sodetel FUP I have monitored my connection in the last few days and realized that I am getting 0.6-1mb connection from 8 am till 7pm
and then it is in the 0.06-0.3 range from 7pm till 12pm
and then on the download gets to 190kBps which is a 1.5mb
this couldn't be an ogero problem :)

Ohh let me tell you the greatest news, i had the 4Mb connection from Sodetel, and after the great Minister Harb announced the new plans, i was migrated to the 8Mb for free (44$ per month)
recently (a month ago), i started having crazy disconnections, after calling them they said they need to investigate the issue.
the investigation took 3 weeks, and i received the answer....
My phone line cannot support 8Mb, and i need to go back to 4Mb (which is fine for me, but it took them 8 months to figure out that and i paid 11$ x 8 without even benefiting from the connection)
MarwanD
Strange... Really strange!
Torrent downloads speed reaches 400+kbps whereas regular downloads, video streaming, speed tests run at 60kbps max :/

I was reading through the feedback for ISPs threads and stumbled upon Sodetel's website. They claim to offer 16 Mbps Down/ 2Mbps Up for 70$. Is there any truth to it, can copper wires reach this speed?
DSL 16M - BLUE
2 Mbps
16 Mbps

I have the 8Mb plan and let me tell you, pepridge farm remembers how that speed used to feel. In summary, they only granted me that speed for couple of months then I only got 400 K to 500 K on a good day. When asking what is the problem through tech support they always answer with 2 answers . Either, it's from ogero , or that problem is because of you.
random-username
That's a shitty excuse. I'm getting 6.7 Mbps on average with terranet, but my upstream SNR is crap (8.5) that's why I'm not getting the upload speed I paid for. Do you think changing the old wire running up from the ogero box to my apartment will improve it?
bogdan22
I honestly do know. But I know they give a lot of excuses where as the problem is with ISPs. Try it before chaning an ISP cause believe me that is the last resort you should consider. You have to go through a lot of waiting and eventually may get a reply as I did that the box in the area can't handle more users.

What's the deal with Sodetel anyway? My friend subscribed to their DSL service recently. He initially subscribed to the 8 Mbps, but later downgraded to the 4 Mbps package since he wasn't getting anywhere near that speed. Also, now that he is on the 4 M package, he is getting 2 M most of the time. This is disastrous. I'm glad i'm with IDM. So far their internet, for the most part, has been consistently stable with good pings to Europe.
