Ping are high now... havent seen any low ping for almost a week now.
Guess i wont be refilling my Internet this month... and wait another month for another ISP ..
What do you think guys ?
Should i go for IDM, Wise or Ogero ?
My max budget per month is 50 000 LBP.
9 days later
AVOlio I haven't seen a low ping either for about a couple of weeks now. It's 370ms right now. It doesn't connect to the PS3 servers. I texted sodetel about their ping issue and their reply was that this latency is "normal" lol and that I should ask about the gaming package. Any idea of the costs?
I guess we'll have to wait for the fiber optic internet which shouldn't be long by now
@Rod yes i called them two, and that is exactly what they said.
Sir the ping you are having now is the normal ping that we deliver (i told him it was like 400ms)

No need to wait for Fiber Optics, cause even then, Sodetel will suck at their pings also !
And im stopping my subcription from then this month, already the Wise people are getting on with my application.

And about the gaming package, i think it is like 70$/month and i think the speed is 1mbps with a ping of 70ms average to Europe.
(From what i read before in this topic with users who have it , and as i remember :D )
This is hopeless...How much are you paying for your Wise subscription? The thing is, i'm a heavy gamer so a connection with a quota ma bet waffeh lol can't wait to graduate and just get the hell out of here. 6 more years lol i will call them tomorrow and ask about the gaming package. Maybe it has changed. 70$ for 1mbps khedlak ba2a
I know, im a heavy gamer too ! Back then when i had quota, it used to drain it with gaming.
Im gonna pay Wise like 130 000LBP to start off a month with 1mbps speed and 12GB quota (all the other ISPs offer 10GB with same price and speed) and i will see, if the quota is enough for me, i will stick with it, if its not, i will upgrade to 2mbps 20GB package.
Man nah, if it is indeed 70$ per month for 1mbps dont go for it , 7aram ! Switch ISPs
I know! Im gonna wait for you to try it and keep me posted. If ur satisfied with it then i guess ill be switching isps
I can confirm that Sodetel is a disaster when it comes to ping. My friend and I are heavy online gamers that require a low ping, we each have a separate Unlimited package subscription. He lives in Dekwaneh and I live in Dbayeh. From December to around April the connection and ping were excellent with a constant ping of 100 ms at all hours. As of these past two months, however, it hasn't even shifted from 300+ ms. My friend also has the same issue. Calling their customer support and even e-mailing them, I got the same answer as with the posters above that it's "normal" and will not be changed..

My friend and I are not going to renew our subscription after this month ends. Any ISP recommendations with low ping?
So i asked about sodetel's gaming package, turns out it's either
1M/ 15Gb for 71.5$ or
2M/ 25Gb for 104.5$
I can't believe it! I won't renew this month.
Ogero is still a good option with it's 10Gb quota for 25$ a month or 20Gb for 50$

Yes Man, im from dekwaneh too, and i have the same problem as you and your friend ! Ping were very good and stable from december last year till april this year, until these last couple of months. I have the unlimited package also.

Im not gonna renew the subscription either, i already applied for Wise. (ive heard great feedback from them concerning the ping)
You guys have a choice between IDM, Wise and Ogero..
I chose Wise because they offer 12GB /1mbps for like 30$ i think, while others offer only 10GB. Plus, i used to have Wise before, which made all the paper work and stuff much easier...
Check which ones of these ISPs work out best for you, concerning the price, and the monthly quota, and choose the best one.
They all have good and stable pings.

HaHa, its funny how they really needed to add the 0,5$ in each package.
Man, their thieves...
Yea, Either go for Ogero, or Wise or IDM..
AVOlio wrote-snip-
Don't you need to wait a month or two to switch from Sodetel to any other ISP?
@TerrCom It usually takes between a month and a half and 2 months. So better apply now! I'll wait for AVOlio to see if Wise is well worth it so I stick with them too.
@AVOlio i live in mansourieh and to be honest, i was able to connect to a lobby on my ps3 for 3 times before Sodetel decided to fuck up. I seriously HATE their guts! I mean bi kell 3en we27a the dude tells me that 370ms is "normal"??? Then how the hell do you explain the lower latency earlier?? I was playing just fine!!! Sodetel sure knows how to lose clients. And btw ,for us heavy gamers, i think 20Gb should do it. No?
Why not just put Ogero or IDM? Its better then raging each time it lags, or waking up early to be able to play almost lag free.
Not sure about IDM but Ogero is not lag free. On the other hand it's still better than most of the ISPs here in Lebanon and I'm still thinking about it. The free night traffic gives it a little bit of an advantage over Wise to be honest but Wise is known for it's gaming experience.
I had IDM and I could play everything lag free. I had 1mb wireless "iFly" and I got around 120ms maximum was 160ms ( in Raids, heavy team fights in LoL, and BGs in wow ). I'm not sure about how much it gives on ps3 but I'm sure it will work great. Wise CAP is not so nice to me, the night traffic in IDM and ogero are the best advantage.
I-fly's cap isn't that appealing either lol but the dsl packages are. Do you have any idea if the latency is the same between ifly and dsl?
No sorry not sure my current area doesn't have DSL and my brother and sister fought with my mom to remove the net and get an "unlimited" ( and that didn't work fine as they expected ).I had no trouble or problem with I-Fly's CAP it was really good knowing that I could download any game from 12-6 and play it the next day. Overall I'm pretty sure the DSL is far more better then the wireless.
Guys there have been posts for over a year now (including from me) about how Sodetel CLEARLY throttles or switches all connections after ~ 3months to the shittiest service imaginable. Don't use them. Stay away. Switch. I switched from Sodetel 8mb/s to Ogero 1mb/s and honestly I'm happier (even though it still kinda sucks).

I have to say F Lebanon and their internet and all the paperwork and wait times involved in switching companies. I can't wait to move back to Austin, Texas. Google Fiber is coming next year which will be 1 gb/s of speed. Can you imagine??? (not to mention there is no such thing as ping over 50ms in the US..)
Still making up my mind between Ogero or IDM. I want a stable connection for the upcoming couple of years. I'll be leaving then to the land down under where I'm sure there will be google fiber as well!
Ogero and IDM are both stable. I trust ogero more because many people aren't having problems with it.
