I'd like to ask some question regarding IP addresses with Sodetel, if anyone can help, that'd be very kind.
The issue is that, most of the time, I am getting a weird type of IP address that I don't really understand. What is an IP address, of which the last digits change as soon as I refresh the page when I am in HTTP, and the real actual one is shown in HTTPS ?
To explain,
when I go to http://www.whatismyipaddress.com, my IP address is shown as 212.AB.CDE.XYZ ; and as soon as I refresh the page, the XYZ part changes to another number (plus, the "Services" shows that mine is "Suspected Network Sharing Device", but back when the IP was normal, it showed broadband).
However,
if I go to https://ip-lookup.net (it's not the difference of the website, but only that this one has HTTPS and the first one doesn't), I get my actual IP address, which does not change by every refresh, and looks like 93.ABC.DEF.GHI which is my legitimate IP address from which I can connect to my computer when running it as a server.
This quite irritates me for something related to running my computer as a server, but I won't put that in place now, I'd only like to get an explanation on the issue, which I think is something related to NAT, but apart from this abberviation that I barely know anything about, I don't understand much, so an easy, neat clarification is what remains required for now, and as a bonus, you can give me a solution !
And surely, thanks in advance.
Extra information: I connect via PPPoE on my computer using pppd and pppconf, which means that I am not behind any NAT from my router's side. But according to amibehindnat.com, and since that issue stated above started to appear, this is what I get:
Are you behind NAT?
Yes!
Your local ip is 93.ABC.DEF.GHI but your public one is 212.AB.CDE.FGH .
