Ija 2arar min il 2idara? Wow, that's comforting.. Those new users do not know what they got themselves into.serenity wroteYeah same here, even the IP addresses that used to give me a good ping are now giving bad pings. I called them and they said "fi daghet", and I asked them if they changed anything all i got was "eja 2arar men el 2idara" but that's it...no idea what they did but what probably happened is that they got some new subscribers and they gave them a good connection so they can feel happy. We (old subscribers) have to eat shit again since Sodetel is really altruistic...i have a 0.9 to 1.55 Mbps connection all day, a 500 Ping, and it's perfectly slow.HotCreep wroteThe DC/Connect thingie hasn't been working for about a week now. Been trying like 50 times daily. Things just keep getting better and better.
Feedback for Sodetel
Same here; I've been trying the DC/Connect method for over 6 hours, literally, but still pings are around 500ms. The lowest I can get is 360ms which is quite disappointing.HotCreep wroteThe DC/Connect thingie hasn't been working for about a week now. Been trying like 50 times daily. Hey guess what guys... I wrote on sodetel's facebook wall, dissing their service. I got blocked. Lol. Their approach to this issue is appalling

@Aly, ok but wasn't the decree enforcements about the prices only and not the speeds? right?! because ADSL speeds should be universal like 1 Mb plan, 2 Mb, and etc...
Maybe "Anonymous" users should hack Sodetel's website :p and teach them a lesson!
How many of you are really willing to switch from Sodetel to another ISP?
Well that's shocking! All those years...anyway that was a good point-push from you, and maybe if amended by the MOT, Sodetel and/or other ISPs who are playing dirty games can now be sure that we are willing to change easily.serenity wroteYou'd be surprised to know that when I told him that I am considering changing ISPs, he had no idea that it would take 2 months. He thought it'd all be done in a couple of days. He said that he will see how to change that though.

@dirol i already did, gonna get ogero now since they got their 12-8 free download , everyone should switch to ogero their is no point sticking to sodetel trash qos .
I am thinking about switching to ogero, but do you know how long they need to come and set it up and stuff ?romel wrote@dirol i already did, gonna get ogero now since they got their 12-8 free download , everyone should switch to ogero their is no point sticking to sodetel trash qos .
They definitely did something so a big number of customers never gets any good IP Addresses. It's been like that since the month started so...might as well want to stop the dc/reconnect trick.
For my part, it worked 2 days only out of the past 9. The rest of the time I have an awesome <1 Mbps when I pay for 4...shared connection my ***

Same thing for me. The DC/Connect method stopped working 4 days ago. The only IP that gave me low latency is now giving me 350ms. I also noticed that latency drops after midnight, but who needs it then :s

That's unbarable guys as it is getting up my noise with Sodetel :@ even though i have done switching to Terranet.
@romel me too. Yes you are right mate.
Just why don't all of you guys make an agreement on a certain ISP and contact that ISP, and one of you be the representative and tell them that if we are like 10 users and want to apply, would you rent us a WISE Box, for instance?
Any ideas may help... just try
@bahaa.k: When the subscription line to the new ISP is ready, you can use your own modem, get connected
and save few days or even a week awaiting them to install it for you. You can call them to check if your line is ready and get your user name and password from the it. (Ports are the same).
Update: Twitter: Asked @NicolaSehnaoui: If we want to change ISPs, it takes 1 to 2 Months while it should be 10 days. Please amend this issue
1)@NicolaSehnaoui: In the last decree (free internet by night) council of ministers agreed to force ogero to accept ISP change with an quick and easy procedure May 09, 5:43 PM.
then a second one:
2)@NicolaSehnaoui: We just need a few weeks to implement the new procedure. May 09, 5:43 PM.

I just called ogero and they told me they need 60 days to do the setup, 60 DAYS !!Dirol wroteUpdate: Twitter: Asked @NicolaSehnaoui: If we want to change ISPs, it takes 1 to 2 Months while it should be 10 days. Please amend this issue

And in those 60 days, can we still keep the subscription of our current ISP ?!bahaa.k wroteI just called ogero and they told me they need 60 days to do the setup, 60 DAYS !!
Or we should have to cancel it, and wait 60 days without internet for Ogero?
Cant i just apply now for Ogero while i have my Sodetel internet still going on,
and when Ogero finishes everything, i'll just stop Sodetel (dont charge my account and it will be cancelled automatically) and then just start using Ogero.
Can that be done? or is it necessary to stop using sodetel in these 2 months ?!

@bahaa.k,
Chaning ISP usually takes 3-4 weeks and if problems encountered, additional 1-2 weeks.
I wonder if they told you "60 days" because of your central location and/or Ogero subscription itself?!
It can also be around 60 days as well, but maybe more or less...Dirol wrote2)@NicolaSehnaoui: We just need a few weeks to implement the new procedure.

Currently sodetel is the worst isp ever.. I liked them in the first but now... Meh
Iam a 4mb subscriber and got annoyed by these useless 400+ ms pings which magically becomes 100 ms in midnight (which sucks cause i wont wait for midnight to play online) . I asked the support about fixed ip and they told me to call sales. I did that and i was shocked to know that there is no fixed ip for 4mb-.- and that its only for 1 and 2 mb subscribers (@73$/105$ total bs). Moreover its quota is low and not possible and logical for such a subscription. Thank you sodetel for your outstanding quality

Your lucky your even getting a 100ms ping at midnight !
After some dcs ofcAVOlio wroteYour lucky your even getting a 100ms ping at midnight !
I just called sodetel's support. A lady answered, I asked the usual questions, she said that the latency issue is being worked on. No specific dates on when will this all be over and that the problem is that they are not getting new E1s from Ogero.
Looks like they reached a deadlock to me

The central is the one in ras beirut according to ogero's support, which is fairly close to where I'm living.Dirol wroteI wonder if they told you "60 days" because of your central location and/or Ogero subscription itself?!
So I'm guessing its from ogero subscription.
You sure she admitted they had a latency issue ? Last time I called (maybe 3 days ago) they told me they had no problem at all...someone explain pleaseHotCreep wroteI just called sodetel's support. she did.. she said they are working on it. she also tried to blame it on the shared connection, but I made it clear that I don't buy it.serenity wroteYou sure she admitted they had a latency issue ? it seems that the support dudes and dudettes aren't really in-sync, they just say whatever crosses their minds
