average ping went down 20 ms on all gateways looks like

so 350 ms now instead of 370.not much of an improvement but hey I'll take anything

That's still shit.. if you're an online gamer you wont be satisfied until you have ~120 ms.. but Sodetel don't give a fuck about their customers anymore..they just want money just like every typical Lebanese f**k
yes it is still shit. but it is 10% less shit. it's all I am saying :P
but things like that don't happen by accident, they may be working on optimizing the route.

when we get 100 ms on a fiber link. the fiber link itself has no delay, much of the 100 ms may be lost within lebanon. they may be working on that
ok so i unplugged my sodetel router for 15 days, came back to try and see if i get put on the fiber optics line ,but i still get a 450 ms no matter how many times i dc ,called the guys at sodetel and told them if i they cant fix my ping im stopping my subscription, they said their is nothing they can do unless i get a fixed ip for an extra 22$/month (so i said fuck that shit im sticking with my wise box :p at least i get my 180 ms ping back ) people who are thinking about getting an isp for gaming should back away from sodetel unless they can afford 100$/month...
I only play strategy games and mmorpgs... so 350 ms is ok for me. sure the delay is not nice but it does not get me killed or really puts me in a disadvantage.

those who play first person shooters and games like DotA surely would not be happy :P

What dazzles me is, why don't these complains reach a higher level? It seems to me that our concerns only reach a mere support dude who is practically dictated what to say, in spite of how silly it was.
Why can't sodetel be a bit more transparent or at least TRY to reach its clients after a huge number of users registered such a complaint? If they really don't care, then I would rather change isps to one that at least pretends it cares.
I Called Them Few Times they said the same shit over and over again , so i cancelled , thanks bye , switched to terranet , and i advise everyone of u to do the same , u want a quality net u gotta show them that you're willing to cancel to ur monthly subscription talking is not enough , action might get you somewhere
I switched from terra net to sodetel , terra net abuse policy is harsh it lasts months
I had 2m the speed was 11 kb/s ridiculous but ping was good
I am happy with sodetel , i keep dc till get good ping and it lasts days ... and the speed is the best from what iv tried ( idm , terra... ) reaching 400kb/s on torrents .
There is no absolutely good company in lebanon , all have cons and pros

it's exactly what I have been saying for the past 3 pages :P there is no best ISP, there's always something, and you won't know what the something is until you are trapped
Is the DC/Connect Method still working? I have been doing it the past week and nothing happens... the only time this method works is when I restart at 12+ Midnight.. its slow all day
meh best I hope for lately is to find 350 ms instead of 400 ms...
So as @ManOwaRR said, what are you wating for, i've also switched to terranet. Sodetel has become untrusted. This is your final chance to cancel your subscription in 14th or the 15th of May and apply to another ISP or run into time-outs!

What are you expecting from them, even if things goes better with our Internet in Lebanon, Sodetel may keep up with ripping you over and over again. I really feel sad for you guys.

And @HotCreep: if you realy want to complain then let ALL OF US send calls or faxes to The Ministry of Telecommunications Complaints and central investigations department (http://www.mpt.gov.lb/contact.htm):

Tel: 01-979316/19
FAX: 01-979322
(No emails)

1-What we gonna tell them? we will tell them that sodetel is giving a complete-full-time fiber-optic backbones paths to companies over users without prior knowledge (We should have the right for 50% of fiber-backbones if they pretend not having enough bandwidths)
2-Their upload speed doesn't meet the 20% of the download speed according to the decree.
(Check it yoursevles most of 4 Mb Packages!!).

We represent a very good amount of Sodetel "hit" users in here, and if we call within 2 days for complaints then that may be a plus for us.

...Awaiting your replies
I'm a sodetel user and my experience has had it's ups and downs but compared with the experience of people i know who have a internet connection from IDM and Terranet, my experience is wayyyyy better. To be honest, my latency has been stable thanks to the DC/Connect method (which i don't mind) and my internet speed is quite satisfying. I always manage to download whatever shit i queue in torrent. So i'm satisfied and therefor count me out of this initiative.
@ Dirol dont waste your time, what Sodetel is doing is more than legal, the ministry wont do anything, I dont know if you have seen this before but the minister Sehnaoui has stated more than one time that the decree is obligatory to Ogero and it does not oblige the private companies to follow it and when asked if a company does not apply the decree and stay on their old plans and prices he simply said "they will loose their customers" but there is no legal obligations to apply the decree as it is, so about the upload speed being equal to 20% of the down speed, Sodetel isnt forced to do that, as for the prices you can notice Sodetel is the only ISP that didnt follow the decree pricing yet they introduced the lowest prices in the market, so you can say its a package, you get low quota + low upload speed (Not bad 512k upload imo) + 4 Mbps for 44$.

If you really want to push to ministry into something, why not go the path of making it easier to switch ISP's. It takes two months or more to switch ISP's now and on top of that, you will most likely have to do without an internet connection for a month or more. If it were easier to switch ISP's, it would give a message to them that if their service sucks, people will find other providers that give them a better service. Either let the ISP's do their job well and get rewarded or those who don't should fall to the wayside and go out of business--we would all be better off that way.
That's a great point xazbrat, way better than changing internal policies inside a private ISP.

I have contacted ministry officials, some who are personal advisors of the minister. You'd be surprised to know that when I told him that I am considering changing ISPs, he had no idea that it would take 2 months. He thought it'd all be done in a couple of days. He said that he will see how to change that though.
Anyway, I have been told by many who are considered to be deep in the loop here. all have advised me to switch from Sodetel IF I require low latencies, for the issue between Ogero and Sodetel won't be solved anytime soon. Sodetel offers great plans, bummer they offer a really bad service though.
The DC/Connect thingie hasn't been working for about a week now. Been trying like 50 times daily. Things just keep getting better and better.

Yeah same here, even the IP addresses that used to give me a good ping are now giving bad pings. I called them and they said "fi daghet", and I asked them if they changed anything all i got was "eja 2arar men el 2idara" but that's it...no idea what they did but what probably happened is that they got some new subscribers and they gave them a good connection so they can feel happy. We (old subscribers) have to eat shit again since Sodetel is really altruistic...i have a 0.9 to 1.55 Mbps connection all day, a 500 Ping, and it's perfectly slow.
