I've seen a lot of people acting as total geeks (which is a good thing :D), but i want to make sure. Tell us your Brevet and Terminal grades you had. As for me, i still haven't done any, but i will do this year.
Edit: It appears that my question is wrong because good grades don't make a geeks, they make nerds. Sorry for being stupid :D

I am sure i am not a nerd, also that doesnt make me a geek either :P...
xterm
I flunked the first time in brevet because i got a 0 on History, although i had a passing grade of 12. The person correcting my History paper didn't have the decency to give me 0.5/10 :-(

Well mesa got 16.7 :P it's not that hard,it's very easy to pass and just include some hard work to get good grades (though i have studied in a good way in the last month only :P) , and i agree with mesa it's more a nerdy thing than a geeky thing.
@xterm O.o WTF ! i would kill the person who corrected my paper if that happens to me :P

Correct me if i'm wrong.
-Nerd: A person who is smart and genuine, in which he depends on his facts and knowings to solve arguments and problems.
-Geek: A person who always likes technology, and wants to know more facts about things, and usually depends on his wide imagination and fantasy.

the two terms have a very wide margin of meanings, check the 2 wikipedia articles for more info
Nerd:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nerd
Geek:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geek
short definition: a nerd is a person who study a lot and all he cares about is getting good grades and generally he is unsocial at all and some nerds are not really smart but they just study a lot, a geek is an enthusiast generally in technology but not necessary (football geeks,sci-fi movie geeks, comic books...) asking for more and more knowledge just because he love that thing,in general geeks are more social than nerds.

Well you can see, geeks are not defined by their grades, you have above 16/20 geeks, and 10-11/20 geeks.
And I don't consider my self a geek ;-) , I'm more like a hardcore PC gamer.
PC I say, cause console sucks, yeah that's right consoles owner, your consoles SUCK. ( Did I mention I LOVE trolling :p )

Ok, when I said nerd, I meant "someone who is focused on their studies so much that they have no social life", which is exactly how my years at high school were.
The only difference is that I was a nerd with two goals:
1) stay on the honor role: it makes a beautiful interview icebreaker when you have "HHSII Honor List 1993-2005" written on your CV
2) keep the 25% scholarship (God knew we needed it when we were 4 siblings at HHSII)
However, in grade 12 GS, I was really burnt out, so I kind of slacked off during the official exams (my parents and teachers were less than pleased). I didn't make it on the honor list either during my first year at university (average of 85 barely), so my dad gave me a simple chat: keep it up, and I won't get to complete my Masters. Next year, I kicked it up a notch and snagged the 50% scholarship.

Brevet 234 ( 16.71 ) no terminal! But grades dont make nerds, because good graders dont study all the time !

A nerd is a person that lives in the books, he does nothing but studying, no social life, no anything, thats a nerd in my opinion, but a geek is a person who pushes his technology experience to its limits !
