chaosn wroteToday I have received a call from terranet asking me if I will chose between the 2 Mb 40 g for $16 or the 2 MB unlimited for only $27
2M unlimited is 50$ though? I'll be laughing at their FUP.

BTW I'd be totally picking the 6-8M 60GB package.
2 MB Unlimited 50$
4 MB 50 GB 33$
----------------
that would be a tough choice !!
I think 2 MB Unlimited 50$ makes no sense ... why pay 50$ for 2 Mb when you can get 6-8 MB for 42$ !!
any idea about when IDM will implement the upgrades? their sales staff seem clueless about the changes...

2Mbit/s unlimited for $27/month only? that's $23/month less than Ogero's new rate! but I'm taking a guess there's gonna be a FUP involved, as we know Ogero probably won't have a FUP for its unlimited package(to be tested later when people get it)

As for me, I'm gonna see if I can get 4Mbit/s 50gb for 50,000L.L/month, that is, if my line can handle the speed, if not then I'll get the 2Mbit/s unlimited option for $50/month.
I will not go with any private isp because of the "fair usage policy" label they have printed in small font on everything. It is a free pass to screw you over where you least expect. And don't get me started on the latency
Me i am going to stick with Ogero for sure also.
And at first, i am going to try the 2mb Unlimited package for 50$.
If the speed and latency is good, and if NO FUP will be applied.
I will keep on going with this package.

If not, if they will cut my speed in half,or maybe even less after reaching some sort of limit, and if im not satisfied with the latency.
I will probably move on to the 4 mbps 50GB package.
How long does it usually take to switch from Cyberia to Ogero?
Can't see the original question, however my guess is that it has something to do with the Centrale-to-user Distance for DSL

What does he mean by "Outdoor telecommunications cabinets"? how can this assure faster speeds?

There's also the possibility that user is asking about areas that still don't have 1Mbit/s as a minimum so I don't know...

They are also called active cabinets. These cabinets sit between you and the CO acting as repeater, thus extending the speed and also the range to more than 6KM

Thank you for the useful info! I guess these will be used for towns and villages that are pretty far away from the COs

Also seeing that this was not posted here before I feel it might be relevant for the future:
I like this new 'wazir', at least he's working!

I'm interested in seeing some Google headquarters soon, I remember someone mentioned they weren't getting here due to the internet or something around that area.

I live about 1km from my CO, do you think it will handle 6-8Mbps?

Yep that happened to me couple of times.
Every end of month internet is dead slow as everybody seems waiting for that time to finish their quotas.
ISPs should put every group on a different date cycle to balance the load, my 3G is scheduled on the 15th of each month.
By they way, did they published officially new tariffs in newspaper?

Yes i know, but i think we should see something in the last posted issue because the minister takes the decisions before 22 May.
Today got unconfirmed yet news about price drop for ISPs.
While Ogero services is 10x increase in quota, for ISP they dropped price barely 58%. But even that will let ISPs survive... probably.
