@ -DNA- we would appreciate it if you share with us how to lower the latency, anything might help, low ping is crucial to me as i play online a lot.
yasamoka wroteHave you tried calling them and ask them why this is happening (and how you can keep it up if possible)? I'd be interested to know what's happening, as I have asked IDM support about packages with lowered latencies but they (he) told me there isn't any.
I called the technical support and told him about what's happening, he told me that maybe there aren't much people currently online using the internet so it helps the latency to get lower. I am certain that he was lying. First: this is only happening recently, it never happened before. Second: when i kept the modem on for two days, the ping didn't get any higher than 19ms even at peak times, only when i reset the router, it reverted back to 43ms. It depends on whom you're talking with at the support, i think that i will give them a second call.
-DNA- wrotei can tell you why this happens it has nothing to do with IDM or the internet in general, its only a matter of some "configuration" that is calculated by the Modem and Dslam when it does some tests to the line before it syncs. so when you restart the router it retrains on different numbers so the latency of the first hop after the router's private ip varies, sometimes your lucky enough that the Modem sees your line very stable and adjusts some settings that would reflect a good ping to first hop
Then why this didn't happen before in the past four years? not even once! as i always test the ping everyday several times before i play online.
