Terranet DSL been strange this month....
Its actually my 2nd month DSL.. first one was great.. ping around 100-140 all day untill 11pm-2am gets a little bit buggy then it gets good again
but this 2nd month been a pain... ping 120 untill 11am then gets to 360 then at 6-7 pm gets to 460.. and 500+ at 11pm ...
ANY ideas why this is happening ? I mean first month was great but now the internet is crappy most of the day

This the worst month ever my ping is 67ms download upload 20kb/s videos takes hour to load

Hello all,
I recently moved to live in Lebanon (Mansourieh), and want your advice to get the best internet connection for ping and download speed. I play online games (mostly Battlefield 3) and want a ping less than 100 ms to Europe. I also tend to download gigabytes of data (a new game release, or a large patch) and so I want 40+ cap limit or free download at night.

Any Sodetel Subscribers know what happens if I didn't recharge my account for a month ?
When I called them they said that "the account will be disabled therefore you will need to repay the installation fees" and the representative seemmed like she doesn't know what she was talking about .
P.S : I didn't use the freeze card either.

I'm with terranet too, and the same problem is happening with me, i think that is due to the overload on the COs in lebanon, wait for the Fiber Optic project.

usually the two are not related, so yes. however, the same reasons that stopped you from having a landline could also stop you from getting a Fiber optic.

K so, I tried getting the 2 mbps DSL plan from Ogero, but apparently our area can't support high bandwidth yet (128 kbps only...)
My only 3 solutions are via Satellite, a Wireless Broadband, or a Private ISP. I'm currently with a Private ISP that gives me an unlimited 1 mbps plan for 45$.. Used to get good service, but now it's just unstable with very low download speeds and very bad pings. The ISP is linked to Moscanet, aka Wise). I was checking IDM's I-Fly 1 mbps plan, and I guess it covers my area. Would you recommend this for me?
I'm a gamer and I care a lot more about pings than the actual speed I might get from it.

For the i-Fly it's very hard to say that I recommend it for you, because I bought it 2 yrs ago and it had very high latency(400-500) couldnt play online, and 7 months ago I left it aside and didnt use it, but then this month I bought the 1mbps account and I was surprised by its latency it gave me a max of 180ms and minimum 130ms to servers, but after 3 days it got higher to max 250ms and minimum 190ms it's still playable and I'm playing fifa and CoD smoothly, so I think its up to your luck if you'll get low pings or high ones...

Yeah I see.. And since you're experiencing it, is there a difference between the Dongle and the CPE signal wise?
Are rush times exactly the same as DSL?
And are those pings to EU you mentioned above?

I'm using the normal one that looks like a cofee maker :p There are no rush times, the speed is cte at any time of the day and the ping is also the same. Yeah all the pings I metioned are to EU servers

Since when do Ogero have plans higher then 1mb available, I thought it was only 1mb for now, are the 2 and 4 available as well ?
I don't care to be honest about the download speed, I want to know that currently I get on the ogero 1mbps a 105-130 ping for gaming, if I get the 2 mbps, will my ping better or it's not relevant ?

ping is irrelevant from the connection speed.
