I guess that would be it. Either try with another ISP that is using a different DSP or go for a non-DSL option.
Ogero has the 'unlimited' option in all areas, and others have followed. Call them up and see what they say and try to confirm it from another source before you sign up with them.

Question: my modem is locking in on READSL mode instead of ADSL2 (or 2+)--is there any meaning behind this? I googled a few sites and they mention cabinetization, but I don't know if that applies over here.
I have been with my IDM for 3 months and my ping has ALWAYS been between 170 and 200ms. However it has suddenly increased to 400-500ms in the last 3 days.

Anyone with IDM experiencing the same problem?
Al0ushka wroteIs there a way for an internet provider to cheat its results on www.speedtest.net ??
both ping wise and DL speed wise?
Most probably yes, by caching data from speedtest.net
Hey guys,

I have a 2MB connection from Terranet, and have been some so so happy with it since I was connected in October, with no connection problems, perfect ping's for online games ( 65ms max ) until this month.

Starting around June 7th till present I have been receiving an estimate of

Day time (12PM - 9PM) - 650 ms minimum
Night time ( 12AM + until 12PM ) - 800 ms minimum

After waiting 15 minutes and 34 seconds to reach customer support, the man told

"3am neshte8el 3al bandwith bel sherke, yomen w bten7al"

So I waited a week and still nothing, is this problem happening with anyone else?

Guys this is REALLY pissing me off, my internet got slower, I cant game online, this feels like shit! My connection was fine all throughout winter with AMAZING pings and speed, can this problem possibly be from my router or my line??

Thanks.
Same here, I'm on the 4mb DSL plan from TerraNet. Latency to google went from 100ms to 600ms for a couple of days. This morning it was restored.
Hi Samer,

I just pinged Google and bbc.co.uk

Min: 546 ms

Max: 1194 ms
Anyone with Cyberia ADSL??
They claim unlimited downloads after 11pm but I doubt it because they are counted anyway
Also is it me or any video streaming website will be 100x slower after 11pm??
The will never know how to respects users, ipv6 huh?

It's been the same for me for a few days, i have the 2mb dsl plan. I contacted them and i got the response that ogero is still working on the lines, they didn't really finish the work last month and are working on "increasing the bandwidth according to international law" this is the literal response i got last month and this month from them, even though things were fine at the beginning of this month and now it's just chaos even at 8am in the morning the ping is 500ms+ to google.

It's been the same for me with TerraNet for 4 years, when 11pm hits the clock, i simply don't use the internet, download rate goes to max 5kbps, and lately it's been worse not just at 11pm timer but that's probably a TerraNet issue according to the posts here.
I just got off the phone with Terranet's customer care, I asked them when is the ping issue going to be resolved, he told me, "Today we were notified that this problem is going to take around 15 days, it most probably will move into the first week of July until it gets fixed."

and you believed them?
at least they agreed that there is a problem. We already left the stage of negation :P

i agree with ballad, i got the same response last month about it being 1st of june, except that this time it's 10 times worse.
IPV6 is not supposed to help giving more ips to Lebanon?
vegetaleb wroteIPV6 is not supposed to help giving more ips to Lebanon?
To Lebanon and all of the world as well, IPv4 offers about 4.29Billion IP address which are quite running dry while IPv6 offers about 340 Undecillion (340,282,366,920,938,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000) IP address, so that would assure the internet world doesn't go IP hungry any time soon :P

However, I guess the question is when can our ISPs implement the change

Wanted to ask, if anyone has any improvements in their connections lately? as a gamer, i've been going nuts since last month, and for 2 weeks in a row now, it's getting worse by the day, i haven't had a single minute of decent gaming since then, i'm just playing with huge lags at the moment. i'm quite surprised the thread here is quiet with everything going on.

posting at forums won't solve it
your best shot is to seek someone from ogero or who works there and have him put you on some decent link
send a direct msg to Sehnaoui's tiwtter (he must be following you back for him to reply) He replies within the first 24 hours

Hey guys,
I am currently subscribed to an 'unlimited' cable connection via wireless access point.
When I did a speedtest, I realised that my real isp is Fiberlink Networks. Anyway, the guy i pay for promised me with a 512kbps connection. When first i subscribed, I got speeds ranging between 59KB/s and 900KB/s.
I downloaded a couple of large files, I think they make a total of 10GB maximum.
However, in the past few days my download speed is not going higher than 30KB/s, how weird?
Is it something related to FUP(fair uasge policy), i.e is my download speed is prop. to my usage?
