What sync mode are you using? G.DMT and ADSL2+ are far from each other on the spectrum, you can alter between and that would be the simple fix.
Hey, thanks for replying. I am currently syncing on ADSL2+. Unfortunately, using G.DMT will lower my speed to a mediocre 2Mbps.
Now I know that G.DMT and ADSL2+ read their measurements differently, but when on G.DMT and at 2Mbps, my SNR margin is normally at 28dB. When the elevator is in use, it goes down to 20dB, which is a whopping 8dB drop. So on G.DMT the drop is still happening, but the SNR margin is so high it's preventing it from affecting the connection.
Using SNR margin tweaking (which is only compatible with ADSL2+ on my modem), I was able to forcibly sync my modem on 4Mbps (down from 7Mbps) which led to the margin being higher, and hence still having enough room for noise tolerance.
tl;dr
I'm on ADSL2+.
G.DMT works only because the connection becomes so slow that more interference is tolerated.
ADSL2+ isn't affected by interference when syncing on 4Mbps or lower.
