infiniteloop wroteIs it me or connect sodetel speed is horrendous since yesterday night?
I can't go above 30kb/s while it should be 240kb/s
And my quota is under 50%
Sodetel support never answer
If it has to do with other people using their internet heavily, then it's probably because people have a lot of data left and since it's approaching the end of the month, they might be trying to use it up (downloading the shit crap out of everything).
I am more convinced it's a an old FUP limit, it should be 75gb now that they updated to 25gb quota, they asked me to send results, just did it.
Anyway I am at 1.2km from the nearest centrale at the village, but it's 1.2km given google maps straight route, it will be more distance with ogero cable installations? So a Open Speed will barely reach 10mb/s at this distance?

Lol, I'm barely around 1.6mbps on 'open speed'. I called Ogero to ask how much my line can handle and they said I'm capped at 4mbps. I don't know how Sodetel is handling things, but right now I need someone to confirm that the Ogero ping is better than Sodetel's and I'd be all set up to switch.

Ogero ping is better than sorted or anyone I've tried (tried 3 different isps), especially if you turn off interleaving.

Switch NOW
Do it.

In Beirut I am at 600m and I get 16mb/s (1.7 mb/s download) with Cyberia.
Be sure to choose ADSL2+ in the modem and not ADSL or ADSL2

My modem is the one you get with ogero, and i didnt find any option to change between adsl and adsl2 etc..
I wanted to order the TPLink Archer VR400 AC1200 Wireless VDSL/ADSL Modem Router but i was too late and pcandparts does not have it anymore. Would you suggest a good modem+router to buy and from where?
Thanks

I have the W8961ND, if you can find one get it
Just visited the Ogero CO to ask how much speed my line can handle, they said I'm getting the most I can (1-1.5mbps), can't get anymore due to the distance (about 2.5 km). Now I'm not sure whether switching to Ogero is gonna be helpful.

You can EASILY have 8 mbps at such a distance!

I was getting 2 mbps for an attenuation of 51! (About 4km)

That's what the lady in the office said. Maybe it has to do with the quality of the cables depending on the location (I'm in Nabatieh).
The VDSL feasibility test I requested on Twitter took a month and they got back to me today saying it is NOT feasible. Are they correct?

My stats are below.

DSL Type ADSL_2plus
DSL Mode Interleaved
Maximum Line rate 1.04 Mbps 15.24 Mbps
Line Rate 0.93 Mbps 14.5 Mbps
Data Transferred 209.36 MBytes 250.32 MBytes
Output Power 10.4 dBm 23.1 dBm
Line Attenuation 12.9 dB 25.0 dB
Noise Margin 10.0 dB 10.4 dB
Good evening everyone,

I am connected to Mazraa CO and I am on VDSL. Upon getting back home from work today (all was working fine in the morning), I realized that my internet service is down but my phone service is working properly (i.e., I can make and recieve calls normally).

Upon rebooting, the modem's Internet and DSL indicators both remain off (the indicators don't even start blinking). It's not a modem defect since I tried my old modem (not a VDSL modem though) and both indicators remained off as well. So obviously the modems are not detecting the DSL/phone cable in the first place.

I also tried hooking the VDSL modem direcly into the cat5e cable entering the house (unplugged all filters and phone devices) and I got the same result. So it's also not a wiring problem especially that the phone service is working properly.

Any ideas what might be the problem?

Call them and report it so that they check from their end.

I called them like 15 times; but only managed to get an operator twice. The first told me to check the filters. The other told me that it's probably something wrong with the internal wiring since the Internet and DSL indicators are off. After I insisted that this is not the case, he told me that a technician will be dispacthed within a day or two.

Now I am not sure what the technician will be able to do from my house since the phone service is working properly, so the wires are all good and it seems to be a problem in the Central or something of this sort.

Unfortunately, based on the stats you provided, you are more than 1 Km away from the CO (If I were to guess, I would say about 1.5 Km away). So VDSL is not viable for your case as they only provide it for people within 800 m from the CO.

I have the exact same problem. Done the same stuff as you did. Been waiting for Ogero's technician to come since 5 days now. i call them everyday and they keep telling me they will come within 24hr 48hr etc...
