very disappointing. Not better than Ogero and they increased the price of free night traffic to those who will have speeds less than 4 mbps!

for all plans
But how is it someone in this forum called idm and they said for 4mb only
I called them on Monday trying to cancel my subscription to change to Ogero. The lady asked why and my answer was simple: better more stable connection on one hand, and unlimited night traffic will be cancelled by ISPs (only reason why i'm with you guys to begin with).

Not only she did her best (and succeeded at convincing me to wait till August 1st) but she made me hold on the line then came back to specifically say that there will be the 4Mbps unlimited 24/7 and it's not clear if the unlimited night traffic will be cancelled or not. She repeated this 3 consecutive times: we are still studying the best options to our customers and you will know soon enough
(I HATE how ISP are handling this upgrade).

Now, what surprised here was that a couple of Ogero ppl and some Lebgeeks/twitter ppl told me that my stats translate into possible good speed (in the range of 14 to 16Mbps if i update my cables and router/modem).

IDM told me that i might not even reach 6 to 8Mbps tops (I live right in the middle of Hamra and i doubt there won't be active cabinet here so WTF !!!!!!!!!) Anyone has a map of Active Cabinet or knows what is the nearest CO to hamra ?

Here are my line stats: please someone translate them and tell me what speeds i can get or not cause at this point i have no clue what to do except wait for FTTH :

DSL Connection

As for the hypothetical released plans, i highly doubt that ALL PLANS will have night traffic
(Though from a business perspective: it's the only logical thing that ISP could do to get people not switching to Ogero by September).
HOWEVER, there's always "FAIR USAGE POLICY" and off course, they will limit the open speeds (WISH FUCKING CONTRADICTS THE SIMPLE NOTION OF "OPEN SPEED")
Been having odd issues for a few hours today too---on the Ogero 2mbps unlimited plan. I never thought I would see the day I would see something like this in this country where my upload speed was this close to my download speed
.

Hopefully goes back to normal soon.
IDM, Rass el Nabeh central - GDS, and I still haven't received any speed upgrades even though some of my friends already got it.

I called their support and they told me 4 days ago "bi hal yawmen"...
I had 3 disconnections in the last 2 hours 2mbps unlimited good stats 31 snr margin - bir hassan co ( what is happening?!!!)

Lol !!
I got the same answer back in June !
Called three times since i heard about the upgrade and its either "soon" or "bhal yawmen" or "awal next week".

Amazing strategy to frustrate customer and push them to switch to Ogero.

My stats are almost similar with attenuation of 37 and snr with sync speed of 4000 kbps, 17. Asked some time ago they said i could reach 10 Mbps, which is logical as my theoretical max rate is about 12 or 11 Mbps but as you should know if they synced me at those speeds my snr margin will drop below 7 and thus will have desync issues. So to stay on the safe side they sync it at 10 Mbps.

Asked them yesterday they said i could reach 6 Mbps, now what i feared is happening, private ISPs lying about our max attainable rates within good SNR margins to save bandwidth for them...... -_-
My idm connection is down
Hope they are upgrading my plan
Still on 40mb 50gb and 8 days to expire

If only your internet connection is down and your broadband light is up then change the password of your IDM account to admin in the modem page.
My cousin had a similar case today and IDM Support told us to change the password of the account to admin in the modem. It worked

the customer care agent told me there will me more open speed plans than those. hope that he is not lying!
I just called IDM again today and he started making excuses why I'm not receiving any speed upgrades now, he said that you'll have to wait till August 1 and that we only upgraded 2mbps to 4mbps for now. I told him that I know a few people that already got open speed by now but he started making shitty excuses "different areas...".

Anyway, here's what boggled my mind, he said you will get a great speed bump, you should get 10mb when the speed becomes open on your line. I started complaining that this is bullshit, but then I stopped because there's no point to argue with them.

Here's my current line stats:
Line Attenuation: 16.5 dB
Noise Margin: 9.8 dB

Noise Margin changed, it was around 15dB in the morning. BUT, theoretically my line can handle up to 19mbps, I don't fucking know how he got the 10mbps.

The upgrades your seeing are just for Ogero customers. For private ISPs we just have to wait till 1st of August to see changes.

Many IDM users got the Open Speed already with free night also !
my max rate increased back from 16 to 18 and sn margin from 22 to 25

max rate dropped today to 15.5 and snr to 21!!!
Would you consider the amount of errors I'm having in one hour too high?

Also what exactly do you suppose near and far end refer to? modem, phonebox, centrale...etc?

Welp, I applied today to 4Mbit/s unlimited via phone then ID pic through whatsapp, and the person told me I'd get my upgrade between 1st and 5th of August. I Just hope my slightly increased SNR margin will hold the speed without a disaster happening
They were supposed to fix the instability these 2 days but it's still very unstable, got 7 random modem reboots today, SNR margin is 10ish
