Nemesis-301 wroteI still don't get what this stupid drama is about using your quota faster just because you get a faster internet....
its not like I'm gonna go, "yay my internet is faster let me download all the useless things I don't need" <-- this is not gonna happen
I can already watch youtube videos without buffering, so I am not gonna watch more just because it is gonna buffer faster...
I am not gonna spend 3 hours more on facebook just because the pics are loading faster....
honestly this is the dumbest argument I have heard so far, you guys should be more than happy for getting open speeds, and you are NOT EVEN ON THE SAME QUOTAS, the quotas are jumping 3-4 times than what it was, so stop this bullshit argument
I think you are missing the point. There are apps that change bandwidth use with how fast your connection is and the faster it is, the more they consume. Skype for example---at lower speeds, video calls can us up maybe 150 to 200 meg per hour, when you getting to higher HD quality video, you are looking at easily 10 times that. So, spending the same amount of time skyping will cost you more in bandwidth. Additionally, if you go to any site with videos, the video quality with depend on the speed of your connection--again, you will consume more by going to the same sites for the same time (probably less because you won't be sitting around waiting for the video to buffer).
And for people like myself, I hate the TV stations I get, especially for sports, and get streams (in English) off of the internet. Right now with my sub 1 mbps connection, I use about 200 ish meg each hour for a barely watchable stream. Now get me a faster connection, I will be watching it in HD and casting it to my TV and using approximately 2-3 gig per hour. Additionally, I would also like to subscribe to a service like Netflix, but that uses about 3 gig per hour for HD programming and about 7 gig per hour for 4k. If I could, I would subscribe to Bein's connect service, but again, both speed and quota are lacking.
If you are using the internet for browsing and little else, the quotas won't mean too much. However, if you start using the speed of the internet like they do in other countries, then the quotas are painfully lacking at this point in time.
