roudy5 wroteTo be honest I came to know the decree is not part of the next CM meeting. It was put on the agenda of the next week's meeting. Am pissed(imad tweet)

Ok guys we can now say that it will never come like anything from this country....
Very very disappointing and heartbreaking news to all of us. In fact, when will our politicians makes us happy for once? We have been expecting the new plans since the beginning of April, but once again our politicians have failed us.

Yea man sadly they always push what really matters to citizens for last... well i'm not excited for the plans anymore, let them come when they do, it will only sadden us more to keep anticipating them.

Exactly brother, all the anticipation and the excitement have been lost at this moment. I think it's better we should forget about it for the time being and manage what we have. At the end of the day we are used to setbacks in this country.

Nobody can say for now, because things are unpredictable.
Hopefully our kids will enjoy the new speed upgrades.
So after my ping with IDM went down to 65ms (to Paris) on Friday, it got back up to 97-100 today. I called them, asking them about this shit so they told me to do some traceroute (to google.com) and so on. I did notice freaking high pings, around 45ms in the second and third hops
I was messing with the modem's setting, I switched the ADSL type from ADSL2+ to G.DMT and the ping dropped to 63ms. Furthermore, I did a traceroute and noticed the the second and 3rd hops are now 5ms, down from 45ms.

IDM support guy told me that my line has a very high noise margin, and my line stats aren't that good.

Current stats with G.DMT:

SNR Margin: 17.0 | 11.0 db
Line Attenuation: 19.0 | 12.0 db
Max Rate: 10304 | 1224 kbps

Current stats with ADSL2+:

SNR Margin: 19.1 | 13.1 db
Line Attenuation: 18.8 | 11.6 db
Max Rate: 14496 | 1102 kbps

My TPLink modem doesn't show the noise margin, though it can be calculated using the SNR margin and the line attenuation.

I'm still unsure what's actually going on honestly, the ADSL2+ and G.DMT thing specifically.

Note: I'm kinda near the central (~1km max).

Lol man you have very good stats you should have a 16 mbps max rate why modem shows only 10-14 and send thepeople@ogero.gov.lb a mail to ask them your distance to the CO cable-wise i live like 500m from the CO but my cable distance is 1.5Km !
Hey guys, shouldn't the line attenuation depend only on the distance to the CO? I had around 24 dB about a month ago, but now it just changes between 29 and 31. Can anyone give me a cause for this sudden change?
As long as the politicians are not gaining much $ from the new plans they will postpone them for ever.
We should as lebgeeks brothers prepare a march to put pressure on this government so they sign the damn decree, if each one of us can convince several people to join us then we can do something

It is related to the length of the line from the exchange, but it varies depending on the actual wire gauge, and the quality of the copper line.
I usually from time to time witness a fluctuation in the line attenuation especially when the downstream FEC errors reach a million, but upon restarting the modem all the numbers will get back to normal and the connection will be stable.

I suggest to sign a petition online, or any better ideas?
An online petition never changes anything. However getting someone's office number to ring non-stop during working hours is the best course of action.

I agree, they won't even be aware of the petition or will say that we ''hacked'' it, throwing daily complaints like you said or a march can make them take us seriously
Ringing or going to the street will get you nowhere , sadly thats our country its been like that since forever now.
They promise and promise and promise and we get nothing , lets wait for another cm if there will be any after 15 of may =)))))
If mr imad can do the people a favor by giving us each sunday 24 hours of full internet speed that would be so great of him , till this dead council sign the decree
Not doing anything never changes anything.

Action, even if barely significant, at least might have an impact.
we did a lot of things and we got beaten and nothing changed , oh yeah we have a president now full of promises with nothing fulfilled (Yet)

i will make it short for you guys , as long as we have something called tawa2if , u can forget about any changes .

it'''s either all people will stick as one hand and go against the war leaders controlling the country since 1992 , or kneel and forget :)

Yes like you said, UNLEASH THE SPEED nationwide and this time with a free quota.
#signinternetdecree
maybe we should make it trending
