ManOwaRR wrotedo you really believe , they will give us unlimited night traffic =))) , good dream though
They already does
And yes ogero did upgrade their Beirut's infrastructure and it's fully capable, don't forget a 16mb/s is considered as very old in other countries, they are now at 500mb/s on fibre and 200mb/s on ADSL in Europe, so even 16mb/s and 50gb download is a joke compared to real heavy load of modern infrastructure.
And no, not everyone is paying the extra fees for unlimited night, so pressure on the network is not that important
1) We're not on full fiber everywhere. Wait for 2020.
2) ISPs are hungry. Too good to be true.

Then again, I hope I'm wrong.

xazbrat wroteAny word if there were any speed boosts (unleash the speed) this weekend and if there are going to be any going forward? The last group I saw were the ones on Easter weekend and that was mainly IIRC Tripoli, Saida and Sour.

Edit 2: Check out the video for the article reference by the previous poster on LBC

http://www.lbcgroup.tv/news/d/312957/report-when-will-the-reduction-of-internet-tariffs/en
they said here (Video), it's based on Distance !
so 2 km far from CO, will have just 2mb !

my line atten : 27/16 !!

and the distance is 2 km,

so i'm going to stay ON 2MB ? it is unfair, because technically my line can handle 10 MB !!!

what do you think guys ?
I think they were 'dummying it down'--remember, this is a general news story for the broad public, not some specialized report for people in the industry. They were just taking the jist of what is going on and what they are trying to do. We all know it will depend on a bunch of other factors, but there was no need for LBC to put that on their report.
Maybe some good news for my part of the world (dohat aramoun). They are going to be doing some updating and routing through the new room (what I thought was a cabinet) and shutting down phone services for 1000 people for 6 hours tomorrow. Hopefully this is a good omen for getting some decent service in this area.

Take a screenshot of your DSL line stats now so you compare with your new line stats tomorrow (If you're one of these 1000 people).

Same here. I know where that box/building is, and as the crow flies, it is 950 meters away and using the main roads, a bit over a kilometer. In any case, much closer than the khalde centraal and hopefully that means we can see an improvement in our area.

I anticipate it will be cut off for some time today though--nowhere close to 6 hours though.

Unleash The Speed back on April 27th in Tripoli, Zgharta, Jounieh. And April 30th in Zahle, Baalbek, Saida, Sour (Tyr), Nabatieh, Chtoura.
It's not unmetered though right? I mean I am already over my limit, if I try to downloading anything those days my bill will be like 1000$ right?

Correct user, limits still apply, but you're having a much better bandwidth so you can play online while downloading or someone else using the internet without affecting the ping.

Received a call from Ogero today regarding that, but they mentioned on monday.
That's what I read on their Facebook page makhoder.

Test results at work (IDM client to IDM server):
15Mbps down, 0.8Mbps up

I tested to a server in France too and the result was similar.

At home with Sodetel my speed hasn't been unleashed.

Because the DSP should be OGERO, so in your case the DSP is not OGERO. While at work ISP is IDM and DSP is OGERO.

Yes I've seen some members talking about this. I tested now on an Ogero line near my area (1 street away) and the speed is around 6Mbps which is what I expected after having calculated the distance from the CO (~2.8km).
Did the meeting occur today??
AVOlio wroteDid the meeting occur today??
nope but news 80% confirming that it will be next Wednesday(said hariri said it)

How did you calculate it? Via google maps and how Diagonal straight line or one the roads only?
Anybody living in the south received the open speeds?
Doom wroteAnybody living in the south received the open speeds?
I'm still on the same speed apparently so I'm gonna contact Ogero and see why that is.
