prince-wj http://www.idm.net.lb/about/news/adsl_new_plans.asp Dear Valued Customer We would like to inform you that our technical staff is working around the clock with the Ministry of Telecommunications to insure the delivery of your new service by October 1st. 2011. The IDM infrastructure is ready to support the new plans and to provide your with great services. We will continue updating you regarding new developments with MOT's readiness. Stay tuned for more updates. I seems there is a problem between MOT and Ogero, hopefully to be solved before the target date
prince-wj The ISPs companies are ready (as claimed by IDM and Cyberia) to launch the new plans, but i heard that the clash between MOT and Ogero (the old story) is still going on. Ogero is still controling the access to IMEWE cable and they are not releasing the higher speed for use.
MrClass A trusted tweety bird informed me that Ogero is having problems with its equipment in withstanding the new large bandwidth (tweety bird is from an ISP)
ali_m3 Ok some of you guys talked about the max attainable speeds we could get on our lines and thats by referring to line attenuation and SN Ratio. Interesting! Now, we are promised by the government of faster internet. The question is how they plan to do that with the infrastructure in hand? Not enough exchanges and poor cable work. Not enough exchanges will mean that many people are actually distant from a single exchange which will increase attenuation and therefore limit there speeds. For instance, me and my neighbours are gettin 60+ attenuation and an SN Ratio below 10. So our max speed for sure will not go beyond 1Mb. Compared to my current 512K plan, thats really not a big improvement. I was looking into 4x speed increase. Dissapointed :(
vegetaleb We are a couple of days before the new speeds, now what are the prepaid cards that we will buy? didn't they destroyed all the old prepaid cards?
hamzewassim For prepaid card service I think users won't benefit this month because they're obliged to reload their account with the old prepaid card. As for ogero I think it will be upgraded automatically that's the the difference between private ISPs and MoT.

Ruroken So is cyberia gonna implement the new prices during the month of October without offering the new speeds? they sent a message to all users indicating the upgrade of their accounts and the new prices yet users here mentioned before that Cyberia wont offer the new speeds during October. So any info about that?
Hybrid I called cyberia, they said, they are waiting for Ogero to start with the new plans, then cyberia will start offering it
TheStunMan for sodetel users to check if the new packages are being implemented visit http://dslinfo.sodetel.net.lb/images/ if you see any new images that means the new packages are coming soon.

bigjudge I've had good speeds for 2 days now, my speed is 60k. it is usualy around 16k when FUP'd, I have the 512 plan, so i checked my modem settings and found this. Anyone had their speed increased eventhough they are FUP'd? update, looks like i am geting the 2 mb speed already.
partam Called Terranet today and i'm a bit disappointed The double speed at night will not be available anymore and the quota for the 1Mbps is 7Gigs down 3 Up So at 1Mbps i guess i have to be really careful with those 7gigs.
partam Ziad87 wrotepartam, they also removed the unlimited nights? no that will remain they said (for now), as the month of October is given as a test for all users until all the packages are confirmed by Ogero.
prince-wj I called IDM today and the guy said that most probably they will leave the double speed and unlimited at night, and the new prices and plans will be posted on their website within 2 days, Cross fingers
