I called my Internet provider a few weeks ago to ask them if I could upgrade to 8Mbps. A few days ago they called me and said that it's impossible on my line.
I was expecting it because my modem syncs on G.DMT and the peek of ADSL is 8Mbps.
Can anyone tell me more about the modulation, what specifies it? Is it set at the Central? I tried manually setting the modulation to ADSL2 but it won't sync, I guess it's because it's not supported (by the Central, again?). I remember that a few months ago it was possible to sync on both modulations, they possibly disabled it.
My Central is Tripoli Tall.

Hello guys, whatismyipaddress.com says that my IP comes from an ISP called WIN DSL s.a.r.l. from Baabda but my connection is from VISP. Any idea why?
well VISP doesn't always have the bandwidth. So sometimes they buy from 3rd party ISP's or are using the WAN connectivity or 3rd party ISP's. That's normal.

sodetels 1.5mb unlimited internet is terrible, I can't play any games online (latency 300+), and I am only getting 1 mb of my 1.5, funny how its always ogeros fault or my line's fault whenever I call them, anyway I wanna switch isp's, I know ogero is the best regarding latency, but I also want an unlimited plan, and ogero only has the 2mb plan which is 50$ and I can't afford that. I am thinking of going with wise, 1mb unlimited, what do you guys think? any better options out there?

That said, Ogero is the best ISP in Lebanon .. the second best might be IDM (fewer concerns were made about this ISP than any other one)

Same case here man, in Zouk. my modem can't sync to ADSL2 anymore. Yeah I noticed that the ping was better, I guess getting 40 to 80ms with Sodetel is awesome. I'm actually fine with 4Mbps too but the quota is too tiny for a family of 5.

ADSL modulation decreases the ping since it forces the central to use Fast Mode instead of Interleave
