Then it's pretty clear that this is the best package available here.
It's either this or the 4M IDM (they have an unlimited@night service) since it's more affordable and I've heard there's no FUP on limited plans (or a less severe one). Any thoughts on that?
If really no FUP on that package, i'd go for that.
The only thing that keeps me away from those unlimited night packages (Cause i used to have them before) is this,

Okay yea you're happy, you have a 4mbps connection, with unlimited consumption after midnight.

Say you feel like watching a couple of YouTube videos, or heavy Facebook photo/video browsing and just heavy multimedia online browsing,
you need to wait until midnight to do that, and if you stop taking track of time, you could be awake until next morning and miss your sleep.

Even if you keep track of time, this little Brain Worm in your head will keep telling you,F**k this, im gonna screw the ISP,they don't give me unlimited at day, only at night Eeeey, so i will use the shit out of the internet, which will end you up staying awake until next morning also.

Also, say you want to download a big file, you need to wait until midnight to start it (or simply put a timer on your torrent or whatever),
in the meantime that same night,i don't know, you don't feel like sleeping (maybe because of all those all nighters "screwing" the ISP), and you decide that you want to watch a couple of YouTube videos,in full HD cause well you have 4mbps.
So you start watching the videos,at the same time as the download starts, which sucks balls cause then the speed will interfere and you will watch the videos by buffering and the download will take way longer.

And believe me, that head worm, will be singing this scenario every day!
So you will end up with days, weeks ney months without proper sleep!

Not to mention if there really is FUP on this plan even at night, cause i think there is.

So finally, what is your decision?!
IDM 4mbps limited
or
OGERO 2mbps unlimited?!

Man I've buffered like 3 mins youtube videos @ 144p for the past 5 years so I'm pretty sure this buffering and even the limited speed after getting FUP'd will be like my wet dream.

I'm sure OGERO is the better choice, but 50$ for a 2mbps plan is kind of too much (but I won't compare it to the F'in 100mbps in like every other country) .
I'll probably take the IDM limited, since I'll be at work all day and use it only after 12:00AM or on weekends.

Thanks bro.

Your modem would often display this information. Try http://192.168.0.1/ maybe? Or do you not have a connection yet?
In any case if you find a good or bad number, you don't have much choice in Lebanon!
Hello rolf,
I am trying to figure out if i can get a 2mbps at my cousins' house, their house is newly restored and ogero says, sorry we can't give you more than 1mbps, and my friend in the village near me has 2mbps!! That's why i am trying to check noise, anyways my cosins have the Thomson router that is provided by ogero, and i cannot find where the noise is displayed!

Thanks in advance!!

Is it possible to fake the ping results (in the cmd)?
My internet is from a local VISP reseller and whenever I ping for bbc.co.uk I get like 70-75ms even if I'm downloading and messing with my connection it stays like that, on the other side my friend has internet from Ogero dsl and his ping is like 100-105 to bbc.co.uk but when we play the same game together (eu server) he gets like 100 ping and I get like 1000 (even if it gets to 80-100 it still lags).
So can the providers fake the ping results??
Probably visp is just more stable with small packets (pings to bbc)
Try with different packet sizes. $ping -s 2542
Should be enough

Is the 1000 ingame ping or ICMP ping? ICMP ping is ping with command line tool 'ping'.
In game of course, ICMP ping is (almost) stable between 75-83 even if I download, even if everybody is using the internet in the house, it stays stable. But in game the ping gets higher which is very normal if I'm abusing the connection.
ingame ping depends on the priority of the port it uses.
I've been wondering... if there are plans to upgrade the internet connections in Lebanon, with higher speeds and whatnot, how will the current lines that can't support high speeds be dealt with? Or is it another way entirely?

My internet speed is 4mbps for like 2 years now
wondering when fiber to home will be avialable
I'm Ogero customer and they are fantastic!

But now, I need a portable access to internet in Lebanon, I tried 3G (Alfa and Touch) but it's not fair to pay 69$ for only 20GB.

What do you recommend for me?

You can try connect.net.lb, they offer wireless routers but only covers some areas in beirut I think, check their site. What I know is that their ping is unstable.
