IDM is congested at night so whatever download i get is definitely below 2 Mbps.. sadly..
Internet in Lebanon - General Questions
Also Sodetel support just told me that they won't stop FNQ, But the guy from TerraNet said that even if other ISP's tell you they won't stop it next month, they will stop it if Ogero doesn't give them enough E1's. I think he's just saying that to justify why Terra will stop FNQ next month, and that's why they don't mention FNQ on their website...TechXero wroteJust called IDM they said it's not true. Only a few ISPs that haven't got enough to spare will disable free night quota. Depends on E1s they got it haven't got.
It is not a general rule! Stop believing anything they say!
I am talking during the day not night. I can only get 2mbps plans. My line is shit too far away from CO. I want to see if it's worth it to switch to limited plan coz the FUP is crap.andrew55 wroteIDM is congested at night so whatever download i get is definitely below 2 Mbps.. sadly..
I want to stay away from unlimited plans for that reason. Wanna make sure limited ones are not subject to this FUP.

Oh sorry.. well i'm currently on the phone with them trying to find out about the discrepancy in download speeds.. still on hold.. lol

If you called 1282 ext1 they know shit. You should call 1282 ext2... CCU supposed to know everything.... Maybe not.... Am sick of all this playing around!andrew55 wroteOh sorry.. well i'm currently on the phone with them trying to find out about the discrepancy in download speeds.. still on hold.. lol

Well we shal wait until 1st august, things will get clear by then, hopefully.
True i always use extension 1. i'll try ext 2 later on..
It seems the best choice so far for everyone is to stay put and not do any "upgrades" on their plans for this month. This mess is obviously gonna stay for awhile and we have to wait for things to stabilize hopefully.
I was planning to switch IDM even though I just switched to Ogero couple of months ago, or at least change my plans but I'm just going to stick my 1mbps 40gb plan for awhile it seems. Maybe apply for a cable on the side for download? who knows ><

While I agree with you 100%, only my current cycle ends on the 22nd, in a week, and according to IDM CCU, I can refill with any of the following (pic).maulader wroteIt seems the best choice so far for everyone is to stay put and not do any "upgrades" on their plans for this month. That being said, they told me that contrary to what is written on the site, "Limited" plans have no FUP. That is why I want to know from someone that has such a limited plan to see if what they say is true. FUP is applied on "Unlimited" plans mainly during the day.
How do I know that ? Well if you on an "Unlimited" plan, try downloading something after 11PM and check your account and notice that the so called counter stops counting MBs just as if you were on a "Limited" plan with free night quota.
What matters to me is the fact of not having to suffer FUP during the day time so I can do my work. I am taking Live video courses about Ubuntu and Repo Syncing to start building my own Android ROMs. I need the speed more than Quota during that time. At night I download stuff while I sleep.
Hope that clears up my situation.
Techxero, I am on a limited plan. I downloaded one night 5 GB and the speed was still the same the next day. During the day, of course there is no FUP too. (I downloaded 7 GB). However I did not push it to the max.
5gb/7gb a night so you got 2mbps awesome! Thanks for confirming. We can't push it more than 1.66666gb during day for the 50gb/month plan so yeah just wanted to make sure.wollyka wroteTechxero, I am on a limited plan. Yeah but I am on the 4 Mbps /50 GB plan

Lucky! But you should be able to get 12gb/night Minimum on this connection. Looks like it's not going at that speed more like 2.5/3mbpswollyka wroteYeah but I am on the 4 Mbps /50 GB plan
No I can go higher (average 420 kb/s) but I don't leave my pc all night, only some hours
You guys don't have to download every show/movie online just because you can. I am a HEAVY internet user(LOTS of Youtube/Steaming at 480p), gaming(including regular game updates), I download files whenever I need to and I have used up 16% of my 55GB monthly qouta. I don't get all your obsessions with free night qouta.

Good for you, never change the way you use the Internet, coz no one else will. Your needs are not those of others.mmk92 wroteYou guys don't have to download every show/movie online just because you can. Have you seen the size of new games? Wolfenstein was 44gb... Tell me you don't need FNQ for that? Please go back to the rock you crawled out under from
I have like 44 steam games, and still didn't play but 4 of them, because I cant download them!mmk92 wroteYou guys don't have to download every show/movie online just because you can. Exactly m_zeid...
Don't mind what mmk92 said. He's a light user that thinks he's a heavy one. Expects everyone to be like him.

Should be interesting to compare Ogero's unlimited plan next month with other ISP's and see if they will indeed have FUP or not. I also hope the rumor (any tech support from Ogero seem to give you different answers) that the 1mbit/s > 2mbit/s upgrade will take place also on August 1st.
Also, here's an interesting fact, speed averages around the world according to (NetIndex) :
Before the "upgrade" dated 21 May 2014:

Today, after the "upgrade" 14 July 2014:
