@andrew55

I can't afford anything for at least 2 months. Gotta live with what I got.

@trent

Yeah go for it it's awesome. And no got almost exactly the same. Plus it's a crappy modem.. Bad UI, no external Antennas. Pitiful. Also we are in Lebanon, theoretical = sorry sir we can't provide you with more than 2mbs. They don't like the extra effort.
I second trent. Thats sounds like a good idea and I think idm will give you 4 mbps.. let them get their E1s first lol..
Personally, I would try asking for a one month trial on 4mbps, tell them you're willing to suffer through the trial for a full month.

By any chance can you connect using Annex L (Reach ADSL2)?
At 51db attenuation it can support higher sync rates compared to ADSL and ADSL2+

Yeah. Looks like until my Cycle is over on the 22nd am stuck on a 5kBps connection for $50. Am going crazy...

Can't open sites, update my apps on my phone. Nothing. Last night I had 4 updates, left them to update n went to bed woke up to see last one updating at 3kBps.

Anything above dmt I get constant disconnections. Every few minutes. Annoying. Listen trent can we Skype? Please?
Call IDM and tell them to keep their 50 dollars and to switch you to a limited plan. This is unacceptable. NO ONE CAN BROWSE AT THESE SPEEDS. I would certainly not live with this. They made everyone convert to unlimited plans so they don't lose money which is sneaky.. totally unacceptable.

Tell me about it. Today if it stays like this will call Customer care and yell. Will send upgrade request now to 4mbps limited plan.

Added you. Now let me know when we can talk.
I have a question regarding SNR margin.
What makes it change exactly? I mean.. yesterday it was fluctuating between 18 and 19 db and the max rate was around 9 mbps on adsl2+.
today it's 26.4 db with a max rate of 14 mbps.
Also, back when I was on G.DMT (before last friday when sodetel started syncing on adsl2+) my line attentuation was 23.5
now it is 36.2 on adsl2+. why would it increase?
Hotcreep you live in Mazraa right? It seems the CO was being updated or something because in the weekend the SNR margin was fluctuating a lot. Today, it stabilized and increased.
As for the attenuation, I have no idea, mine is still the same, however I was on adsl2+ since forever! (IDM)

Ah alright then! thanks
I have a question. I live in mar mkhayel, beirut, below ashrafieh. I want to switch from my 256k wireless broadband connection (it is really slow) to ADSL.
This means I need a landline/phone line. Where do I go to get a phone line?

I think you need to call Ogero and check with them, they'll probably refer you to the closest CO
Went again to ogero yesterday to ask for an upgrade, this time they said yes(after reducing it last week), the charged me 8000LL to do it instead of the 5000LL try use to charge. ...didn't the new minister promise free upgrades?!

As far as I know, it costs 5,000LL Upgrade/downgrade fee + 1,000LL V.A.T + 2,000L.L Stamp = 8,000LL in total.

Can't remember whether the minister mentioned free upgrades or not

Wait till tomorrow, dunno why but the Cyberia guy told me to wait till 10th July to see how they will proceed with upgrades, perhaps we will be able to do it online after all
He said free automatic upgrade and not free upgrade.
In other terms, if you had 1mbps/4GB free upgrade to 2mbps/40GB. But if you want to upgrade it on-demand, it costs money, it always did.
