Hello everyone,

I am looking for a decent internet connection to my home (like 4MB speed) in achrafieh. I dont have a 01 line. so I cant get ogero. What would you suggest?

You can get illegal internet or connect's plan 5mb 70gb for 105$ with free night quota, or 4g but it's expensive, anyway wireless internet and 4g prices will be reduced just give it 1-2months

Let me tell you that my friend thatis a scam used by ogero alloe me to elaborate : after the previous upgrade ogero applied it for most of it's clients but left some behind. You had to go to the pos and ask them to apply the upgrade, they will ask you for some papers not sure what exactly but im sure about the id of the line's owner and you will get your 2 mb speed. If you call them they will say line cannot handle more.
I was convinced that my line only handles 1Mbps but now I was doing some google search and found this site https://www.speedguide.net/faq/what-is-considered-good-dsl-line-attenuation-371
and it said that : 3.5km = 48.3dB = 6Mbit
4.0km = 56dB = 4Mbit

I changed my thomson router yesterday to TP-link ADSL2+modem solution and it reads :

* Line Attenuation: 50.0 31.5 db(downstream/upstream)
*Data Rate: 1024 256 kbps(downstream/upstream)
*Max Rate: 4624 832 kbps(downstream/upstream)

SO according to the site I should be getting something between 4Mbit and 6Mbit as my 50.0 downstream attenuation falls between these two values (48.3db and 56db) and my router confirms that with the 4624Kbps Max rate downstream, Now I'm really confused, does my line really only handle 1Mbps or I'm missing something here :/

Go to the nearest Ogero resale offices, ask them about your distance to the closest fiber optic end or ask for a fiber optic deployement map or the closest cabinet to your home that has fiber, and then compare that distance by the one calculated by your router. If there's a difference (more than 10% for inaccuracy) then you might have something stalling your connection which probably is electrical interference.

Ever since my downstream rate has been pushed to its limits I've been getting a shitton of CRC errors and I can't even game. I got to fix it by switching to G.DMT where I only get 3.5Mbps instead of up to 7Mbps.

Turn on interleaving if you have it off, btw what is your max rate on adsl2+ and what is the data rate

I went to the CO today , they told be to come the last week before the end of the current month to switch plans.

As a sodetel subscriber, I was subscribed to the 1.5Mbps unlimited plan, today the router shows 4Mbps down rate and 1Mbps up. I hope this will be their unlimited plan (4Mbps for 28.5$)

I've gamed this whole night on G.DMT and got 0 CRC errors.
I'll try to game again on ADSL2+ tomorrow to see if it got any better.

Maybe that's the maximum speed your line can handle. Did you get those speeds while speedtesting/downloading something or is it just the stats of your router?

I've noticed a little improvement but no didn't achieve the 4Mbps speed yet, it's just shown as stats.

what about SODETEL OR WISE?

sodetel have max 1mb so does mobi , but wise repackages connect's packages and more options for capacity : check it
