They promised 16mb/s plans for the price of 2mb/s actual plans, all these superspeed days for nothing?
Couple that with claims that "unlimited" will only happen with 2-4M.infiniteloop wroteI hope so!Ramnesia wroteso all of that to get 150GB quota. It is a joke right?raichu wroteLBCI just posted this:

I bet there will be no unlimited nights with 10+M speeds.

Do you really think IDM will give you 16M unmetered at night? Does network even handle pressure? I don't. But we'll see.infiniteloop wroteNot with ogero as ISP but others yesraichu wroteCouple that with claims that "unlimited" will only happen with 2-4M.infiniteloop wrote

Let's Hope to be on Thursday.
they said here (Video), it's based on Distance !xazbrat wroteAny word if there were any speed boosts (unleash the speed) this weekend and if there are going to be any going forward? The last group I saw were the ones on Easter weekend and that was mainly IIRC Tripoli, Saida and Sour.

so 2 km far from CO, will have just 2mb !
my line atten : 27/16 !!
and the distance is 2 km,
so i'm going to stay ON 2MB ? it is unfair, because technically my line can handle 10 MB !!!
what do you think guys ?
You will pay for this option like you are now, so for these ISPs additional $ are always welcomed, so if you will pay under 30$ for 16mb/s speed, won't you pay extra 3.5$ for unlimited from 11pm to 8am?raichu wroteDo you really think IDM will give you 16M unmetered at night? Oh I totally would. 10+M for everybody near COs and unlimited will cause massive pressure on weak infrastructure + if Ogero doesn't have that option, private ISPs will have a big advantage should they offer it.
I just can't imagine people with Ogero looking at IDM subscribers downloading 50GB a night and staying calm.
I hope I'm wrong. 16M with 150GB during the day and unlimited at night is not bad at all for a start.
Just my 2 cents
do you really believe , they will give us unlimited night traffic =))) , good dream though
ManOwaRR wrotedo you really believe , they will give us unlimited night traffic =))) , good dream though
Its all about the FUP. "Fair usage policy" will definitely be applied even with the so called "unlimited" options.
They already doesManOwaRR wrotedo you really believe , they will give us unlimited night traffic =))) , good dream though
And yes ogero did upgrade their Beirut's infrastructure and it's fully capable, don't forget a 16mb/s is considered as very old in other countries, they are now at 500mb/s on fibre and 200mb/s on ADSL in Europe, so even 16mb/s and 50gb download is a joke compared to real heavy load of modern infrastructure.
And no, not everyone is paying the extra fees for unlimited night, so pressure on the network is not that important
1) We're not on full fiber everywhere. Wait for 2020.infiniteloop wroteThey already doesManOwaRR wrotedo you really believe , they will give us unlimited night traffic =))) , good dream though

2) ISPs are hungry. Too good to be true.
Then again, I hope I'm wrong.
I think they were 'dummying it down'--remember, this is a general news story for the broad public, not some specialized report for people in the industry. They were just taking the jist of what is going on and what they are trying to do. We all know it will depend on a bunch of other factors, but there was no need for LBC to put that on their report.breathino2 wrotethey said here (Video), it's based on Distance !xazbrat wroteAny word if there were any speed boosts (unleash the speed) this weekend and if there are going to be any going forward? Maybe some good news for my part of the world (dohat aramoun). They are going to be doing some updating and routing through the new room (what I thought was a cabinet) and shutting down phone services for 1000 people for 6 hours tomorrow. Hopefully this is a good omen for getting some decent service in this area.

Take a screenshot of your DSL line stats now so you compare with your new line stats tomorrow (If you're one of these 1000 people).xazbrat wroteMaybe some good news for my part of the world (dohat aramoun). Same here. I know where that box/building is, and as the crow flies, it is 950 meters away and using the main roads, a bit over a kilometer. In any case, much closer than the khalde centraal and hopefully that means we can see an improvement in our area.Moudimadi wroteHello xazbrat, i live in Doha Aramoun. I anticipate it will be cut off for some time today though--nowhere close to 6 hours though.
