From my experience I can say Ogero provides one of the most(if not the top) stable connections.. In terms of latency, Ogero's latency is good(90-120ms) in games but I've heard other ISPs provide a ping just as good or even better but stability wise Ogero is one of the top.
oh im sorry i forgot to mention that i want wireless broadband internet not dsl.. its between Sodetel/IDM/Terranet

Theres no good latency in wireless broadband
so there is no solution other than dsl? i don't have a land line and can't get one
I have been noticing very good improvements in latency lately. The most surprising part is that the ping to my ISP is 4 times lower than it used to be.
I would like to know if anyone is experiencing this ? And could it mean anything in the near future ?

And you are in Tripoli? that's awesome dude. My ping results are ~120 !!
Mine used to be like this too. My CO is in Tripoli Tell and I'm synced on G.DMT (ADSL). Are you synced on ADSL2+ ? What's your CO ?

Pretty much the same.
CO: Tall
ISP: Wise
Location: Zahriye
Mode: forgot what is it, I will dig in modem today and try different ADSL modes and also ADSL2
Also I'm little concerned about my phone line, so I will change it.
Here I have 3 options for it:
1- run a regular phone cable (CAT 3) externally from box to appartment
2- run a CAT6/CAT5e cable the same way, but here getting advantage of the cable quality and twists
3- install the dsl modem right next to the phone box, it willl be enclosed with a protective box. The phone line will run to the box, plugged in to the splitter that I will put there, the dsl port will be directly connected to the modem, and the other phone port will be connected back to the current in-wall cables back to the appartment. Finally I will run a CAT6/CAT5e from the modem downstairs right up to my apartment and connected to the router in home.
What do you think? Should I open a separate thread for this to discuss it?

Post the stats of your modem, the SNR and those stuff. Then we can see if there is a problem with your line

I don't think SNR and attenuation is the only parameters to affect latency. Anyway I will post them later today.
Yet another thing I forgot to mention, that a friend also subscribed with Wise dsl and also from Tripoli with CO is Tall, and the same plan
So we are basically the same in every thing. But his ping results to 8.8.8.8 and bbc.co.uk gives ~80s like 87 and 88. That freaked/pissed me !
On the other side, my neighbor subscribed with ogero dsl and has latency slightly better than mine but still above 110 ms
can it be our DSLAM and neighborhood connections causing this?
The stats can show us if you are in FAST (lower latency) or interleaved (higher latency). Here I have OGERO 6-8MB, also CO Tripoli Tall
I have ping 70ms to 8.8.8.8 and 65ms to www.google.com
guys whats the cost to setup a fixed phone line?
guys whats the cost to setup a fixed phone line?
no cost at all, used to be like 50,000 i think, but MoT changed that to free

that's nice to hear
and whats the approx time to setup a phone line and an ogero dsl connection?

A line took me 1 week , even less but ADSL can vary from 2 weeks until 1month and a half,
Mine here took less than 2 weeks when I first got the old 2M/20GB last year
Does anyone know of any wireless solution that I can use to play online games with respectable latency?
I can't use DSL Coz my phone line cannot support more than a128k speed connection (ogero's reasoning for that is that I live far from the central.. I live in awkar and central is in antelias smh), and the local cable here has a ping of 500+ ms using speedtest, even though I'm using his best type of accounts.
I'd appreciate the help guys. Thanks.
I would say try mobi or any of the relatives .. they maybe expensive but when i had the ping was about 130-150ms .. free download at night .. please make sure you have a good signal where you live before you buy because it is expensive
guys can you please post your pings in games like CS:GO and ISP/Plan and location.
Example:
Game: League of Legends
Ping: 105
ISP: Cyberia
Plan: 6MB
Location: Hazmiyeh
Game: Any game with Europe Servers
Ping: 60-75 (depends on location)
ISP: Ogero
Plan: 6MB-8MB/60gb
Location: Tripoli tall
Whattttt!! hold on, how much do you download? is 60GB enough for you? how many people use it in the house? you probably have the best ping in lebanon! how often do game??

would i get the same ping with the 2MB unlimited plan?
can someone explain to me the difference between the internet line and regular line? will an internet line improve the quality of my internet connection? Its in the setup price part of the page

hkbazzi man it doesn't matter if you switch to ogero, the base ping on DSL is dependent on the quality of your phone line and the DSLAM router combo.. what makes him get ~65ms is that his line is too good so interleaving is reduced on the line automatically thus lowering his ping by 30 to 40ms so your 105ms figure is very good if your line is weak. geographical location doesn't matter as well only ~5-10ms difference the main thing is the interleaving. from exactly the same place 2Mb from Ogero one of my lines has 65ms to europe the other 100ms the first one has interleaving disabled.
no nothing changes between internet line and phone line cause they are the same,i think the first just has no number attached.
