32 threads.. why should 4 make it better?

Coz IDM the ISP does not support more than 8. If you use more or will become unstable
when i download all 32 threads are used (most of the time). How would you explain that?
In speedtest, I sometimes get below 3mbps (4mbps plan). however, on torrents, speed is stable around 420 KB/s

I said unstable not that it won't work. It will work but as you have mentioned speed not stable, it's due to the fact that IDM the ISP does not support that much. Even IDM the app must have warned you about that when you set it to 32 threads
You're right I'll put it back and see what happens. I've exprienced the fastest download speeds with more than 8 though.

Yeah you can set it to 16 max will work great.
IDM today at 1 pm!!! 4 Mbps/50 GB plan
Seems that Speedtest.net is not to be trusted most times. Why ? It sometimes shows my connection to be 0.2mbps yet in IDM I see ~1.5-2mpbs.

Lucky!!! You have an 8mbps connection. In my area I can barely get 2mbps according to IDM CCU. ?
IDM offers 8/1... therefore speeds should be 6.8/0.85. that speed test is a lot better!

Today is my last day of this crap at midnight will be limited so hopefully I will be saying goodbye to that FUP nonesense. Got 9days to use 45gb that makes it 5gb/day should be fun.
Make the most of it..haha

Limited plans have no FUP. At least that's what all ISPs say.
it is not FUP, it is a crappy connection.., They are setting a max speed per thread..

Before upgrade my connection never dropped below 1.9mbps on my 2mbps I dunno about now though will know tomorrow when my account switches to limited from unlimited.
Wollyka is right. Download on firefox and chrome is slow but it is fast on internet download manager. i guess that makes sense.

Like I said before, browser downloading is a thing of the past for me, I have not used it since 1999

I know how you feel. I got a Nexus 5 running a custom ROM and ever since they updated the Google Play Services, Themes download twice before installing, add to that the fluctuated connection takes forever and a day x)
I also have a Nexus 5 :)
I called IDM support to complain, after the support guy directly blamed a local problem from my end, and after a long discussion, he admitted that there is congestion , that;s why the speed is low!

Now that scares me a little. I hope for their sake that my connection doesn't go lower than 1.5mbps else they gonna hear from my lawyer.
Anyway, Nexus 5 you too? I know it ain't the place to ask but I sure hope you ain't on Stock.
