Well i couldn't be happier to sign up for few of these courses, Standford is offering some nice computer related online courses starting January or February.

Check them out anyway, I am going to watch the Cryptography class for sure.
Enjoy.
free as in like, totally free? I do the exams and get the courses online? And i watch the professor give the lecture also online?
Nice and very useful. Will sign up right now :)
This is really cool. I have had good feedback from people taking the Machine Learning course this semester. Yes Beej, totally free, you even get a statement of accomplishment from the professor if you pass the course (you will have homework, exams and assignments). Expect a good amount of work load, it is an actual course after all.
I am very interested in the Software Engineering for Software as a Service course. One question though: are the courses live streamed online or do we have the option to watch the lecture at a later time?
As Samer said, it's an actual course so you have assignments and exams.
They will email you with the required information before the start date.
@Kassem; You can watch them later on their youtube channel or on the class website.

Lovely :)
I am going for a Master's degree in MIS this year. Do you think I could commit to the course along with the Master's courses and my full-time job? In other words, does the course require too much time commitment?
Wait a minute, I never really understood how these online courses work! Are they offering online degrees, because this is too good to be true !
I started wit the AI Class in october sadly i do not have time anymore to follow.
But they are very good classes with interactive tests
I just subscribed to the Algorithms class. Will let you know how it goes.
Okay then another question, is it just related to computers? I mean i am a biochemistry student and i would love to study more on specific courses.
Also i am a noob when it comes to programing and language, will i learn the basics and move up? Or they start already advance programing?

Awesome! Now I get what Kassem meant in his Facebook status Just subscribed for "Design and Analysis of Algorithms" and "Technology Entrepreneurship"

Subscribed to Cryptography and Information Theory, thank you m0ei for the share, by the way if anyone is interested and i think most of you are aware of this check out the MIT open courseware website, they have detailed course materials like presentations, homeworks and videos for almost 2000 courses in all fields of study.
i signed up for the cs101 see you there! What do we get at the end? is it an actual degree or a useless certificate?
Signed up for both Entrepreneurship classes.
Thanks for the thread, moei !
It seems they added new courses related to Medicine, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineeringand Complex Systems. Also Computer Security course to the CSC field.
I'm not sure when they added the new courses, but i noticed couple of days ago.
