HTTP Tunnel

Hey guyz, need an advice.

Which in ur opinion is the best Tunneling software ? i'm using HTTP-Tunnel free service, and i don like it much (anyways am just using it for MSN Messenger)

I saw that HTTPort 3 on Download.com has more download clicks. Which is better ? any other software that are better ? Or does someone have an HTTP Tunnel Cr4ck to PM it to me ?

Tnx

Re: HTTP Tunnel

anything can be cracked or patched, you just have to examen their anti-piracy protection, if it's client side then it's very easy to crack, if its not it could be patched to send fake ID on the computer.

Re: HTTP Tunnel

Http-tunnel, socks2http and hopster,
I tried all of them ! (yes, I have a very very boring life), and the paying service!
Even after paying and sending the guys support request emails (I have a very boring life, remember?), I couldn't get hopster to work over 4Kbytes.
socks2http is good but exnpesive (10$/month for 25KBytes/s)
I was happy with http-tunnel, 50Kbytes (maybe more, i dont know, that's the limit of my connection) at 5$/month.

Re: HTTP Tunnel

I assume that AUB (knowing their level of knowledge), have some system that reports web usage statistics, like a list of users who do the most downloads.

howwe aslan when you use http-tunnel, it appears to the administrator in the usage logs and reports as if you are downloading from a webpage. So it's not immediatly evident. But if you use too much http-tunnel, the administrator might wonder what is this webpage of which you download 100 megabytes every day.
He might then investigate about this page and might find out that it is http-tunnel, or he might not.

It is also possible to create a system that will automatically detect http-tunnel connections, but to my knowledge no similar system exists yet.

That's a lot of IF's. In the end, it all depends on the aministrator, iza elo jalad enno y shouf el usage statistics and other stuff. If the admin checks his usage statistics at all, then the more you use it, the more he's likely to notice you.

Normally in a ISP with hundreds of users, the administrator doesn't bother studying the statistics, or studying them long enough to detect the use of http-tunnel. You know it's not them who pay for the bandwidth, so as long as the connection is doing fine they probably wont look at the statistics.

Re: HTTP Tunnel

i used HTTP Tunnel in AUB like 4 yrs ago or something. All AUB Was using http tunnel, and it wuz working fine. They don't monitor you, and in case they did MSN doesnt send much data so the traffic will look normal.. they wont be that picky in monitoring. But dont worry u can use the tunnel, we all used it there.

But as i heard this year (i graduated frm AUB 2 yrs ago) i think now u can use MSN Messenger regularly without having to use Tunnel. Try it, put the right settings or try socks.

IF u want u can use the official Web messenger i dont think they banned it  http://webmessenger.msn.com

You can also use http://www.e-messenger.net

This is the best: http://www.msn2go.com , its very fast, using a java applet, but it has no colors, animations or anything. But is great when needed, and very fast.

Re: HTTP Tunnel

Give it a try. You most probably wont get caught. Anyway if you get caght, I dont think you'd get a warning or anything like that. And if the admin was so worried about http-tunnel he would have blocked the servers already. Actually the admin may be the n.1 user of http-tunnel.

Try not downloading so much as it would slow down the AUB network, though ;)

Re: HTTP Tunnel

Rolf, believe me .. years ago, the network speed there was unbelievable (it wuz in 1999-2002) we used to download so many songs and take our friends' usernames bcz of the assigned monthly download quota.. but the speed was awesome ! 5 megs would take 2 min or somthing.  But after that the connection started a steep downfall.. i think its still bad till these days been a long time i didnt pay the labs a visit, since my graduationn actually.

Re: HTTP Tunnel

Do you have the paying subscription to http-tunnel?
using the free service at 1KB/s is useless.

Also try these proxies (same ports):
proxy1.aub.edu.lb
proxy2.aub.edu.lb

You also have to configure the SOCKS proxy in kazaa and imesh, as said in other threads.
