Problem with car CD player

Hello there,
I'm having a problem, I got a used car and the CD player (OEM Mercedes) in the car does not play except original discs (I have tried original and copied CDs which I burned at low and maximum speeds) But nevertheless only original discs have worked.
So what is the solution ?

Re: Problem with car CD player

What's your car's Model and make ?

And as tarek mentioned, some cars can only play audio cd's. Mp3 cd's cannot be played. Try audio cds both.

Re: Problem with car CD player

Hey its clk 1998. i tried only audio CDs. i burned them in itunes. the files are mp3 and i think in itunes they are converted to audio files.those same CDs work in other cars and stereos. but no copied CDs for my car :S

Do you think if a technician removed the player and replaced the lens would it work ? any ideas guys ?

Re: Problem with car CD player

well if you want to change the lens it would cost more than a used original radio which is worth around 50000ll for the 98' clk
or install an mp3 cd box in your trunk or glovebox...

Re: Problem with car CD player

dude don't burn with itunes it won't work
the
CD has to be WMA
you have to use Windows Media Player or burn it with Nero StartSmart as an audio CD otherwise it won't work because your car doesn't have an MP3 file reader in its ROM
