@Ogero 512

BTW, look at my ISP, it says "Reliance Globalcom Limited"!! Have you ever heard about it ?
Doesnt supposed to be "LibanTelecom" ?!

I actually reboot by modem if I get anything other than Libantelecom.  Another one I have gotten is Beyond the Network america and it makes you think you are in London.  If we had good speeds, we could conceivably use the ibbc player and watch UK shows.

Edit, as it happens to be, I have to reboot my modem.  Look at the distance I am from city in the UK and how I slower than other users in the UK (surprising not as bad as one would think)

On pingtest.net, my IP has changed.

Does that relate to the note Samer Karam has posted?

I definitely think there is improvement in pings. I play DOTA daily on Garena. Last week, pings ranged between 250ms and 650ms. Now pings range between 95ms and 200ms. Green pings all the way!

It's related to the IMEWE

And how shall we know if we're benefiting from the IMEWE by just pinging this IP?
We should know the before-the-IMEWE-get-turned-on ping so we can make a comparison, and thus check if there's any improvements or not.

Re: Internet Speed and Latency in Lebanon

again, I would like to say the reason that many of you are still getting high pings(or "normal" pings) is most probably because IMEWE is on, but ISPs probably hasn't put it into effect for customers until there is a new pricing list approved, so again guys, take it easy on the results, wait a week, or 2(or until 1st August) and I bet something nice will happen lol
according to this, Leb should start experiencing the effects of IMEWE in less than 2 weeks
http://www.elnashra.com/news/show/36515 … 8%AC%D9%84
who knows, maybe one day we can get this lol
1377277837.png
(obviously not in Leb ;) )
I'm not in Leb but here's my ping results on that IP you guys are talking about:

Pinging ae-7-7.ebr1.Paris.Level3.net [4.69.143.238] with 32 bytes of data:

    Packets: Sent = 11, Received = 11, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 44ms, Maximum = 45ms, Average = 44ms

I don't get it, if it's supposed to benefit you guys how come I'm getting the lower pings on it? or is it just that I'm pinging a server in Paris?

Re: Internet Speed and Latency in Lebanon

Reply from mpt.gov.lb is ~ 50ms
Reply from bbc.co.uk is ~ 100ms
Logic says that haven't we got that hight latency to a 'server' just miles away, Latency to Europe should have been ~60ms at max... It is not about the IMEWE from now on but our internal infrastructure...or am I mistaken? Could it get better if the latency to a server just few miles away stays 50ms ?
