duckster : you into drupal ?
i REALLY really really wanna learn more on drupal aka go advanced.
I am looking for someone who has real life experience in it - probably we can collaborate on projects and such
Rolf : sorna tnein, maybe we can sit together and motivate each other to go deep in it
shekvaL: really thanks for the links - but the problem with all the things to learn, i am running out of time and looking more to find a person who can "Talk" about drupal in a live convo and share experience.
If you see the avg stuff i read per month, u will pass away - i am just trying the human way to learn aka peer learning and i don't mind paying for it :)

well ive done what i can
well ive done what i can
and it is much appreciated :) - checking the PM - Thank you
I am getting a job soon. I may have to support a drupal project or two. So if you want to prepare some kind of collaborative learning experience, I am definitely in; and I need it.
I've maintained a drupal website for ~3 years (including module and core updating, working on templates, themes, etc..). I eventually gave it away two or three weeks ago. Drupal is a very powerful monster!
If you have a question, I can try and help.

Drupal is a very powerful monster!
well i never worked with drupal but i think joomla is better , at the end its up to the website content
but what do you think is the most secure and updated CMS script that have the less vulnerabilities and best features , i think these are what makes a powerful monster script [ between i hope not the change the topic subject ]

I never tried joomla. But I hear good things about it. Drupal really needs a lot of modules to functionality. But there is a wide variety of modules available.
Let's stay away from off topics.my answer: I didn't start with of topic , whatever ...

Joomla 1.5 FTW! Acutally, Joomla 1.5 + Sourcerer = Can you beat that?

Yes, my own light weight (yet extensible) custom developed CMS :)

Care to share a sample? We need to confirm its light weight and extensible

LOL I guess I failed to explain properly. I mean creating a CMS for the specific site myself rather than using an already built CMS like Joomla or Drupal, which is in most cases an overkill.

Yes, but the features are amazing. Joomla is secure and well programmed. You build a nice website faster using Joomla. You wont be hunted down for using it, it's open source and sharing here is a good thing. Millions of templates available for use, thousands of functionalities available in Joomla Extensions. Joomla will help you create a well structured website. Plus, you can add your own code. That's where Sourcerer will shine. Finish up the site basics with the Joomla then add your custom functionalities by coding them in PHP. Sourcerer reads the PHP and renders it properly. Building a site specific CMS is nicer, but who cares? If Joomla can offer the same thing, then why waste time making your own CMS?
I have a lot to say about that, but here's not the right place to do it. So I'm opening a new topic on the use of CMSs
EDIT: Here it is.

I would also like to ask if there are any Drupal experts in the house.
I'm trying to build my first Drupal website and having a hard time AND running out of time.
Don't get me wrong, Drupal is very friendly (especially to 'casual developers' like me) but it seems my project's requirements call for some very advanced tweaking and customising. Online tutorials, screencasts and IRC chatrooms have helped but not enough.
So if you are a Drupal expert, I need a crash course ASAFP. I'm not making money from this project (which is why I can't just outsource), but I am willing to pay for sessions as long as you have the answers to my burning, desperate questions. Teach me how to fish rather than catch it for me, etc.
Sincerely,
Freaking Out At 3 AM
