Windows XP on macbook... the joy!

I always use win XP on my macbook... here's my experience:
- The laptop goes to sleep just once, the first time you close the lid. Then if you open it again and close it again it wont sleep until you restart.
- Any usb device plugged in after the computer wakes up from sleep will not be recognised...
- No right click (but I have a little app that turns ctrl-click into right click)
- Sound randomly goes mute and i have to restart (not too often though)
- Windows doesnt shutdown properly, i have to use the power button
- Sometimes windows wont start... the screen will stay black just before the login screen
- A couple of bluescreens
- Camera doesnt always work in msn
- Cursor looked like a scrambled cube a couple of time (display corruption)

Other then that... it works fine :) most of the time. The most annoying are the sleep and usb problems. I dont really care about the rest... i just have to restart from time to time.

Re: Windows XP on macbook... the joy!

I assume you're using the latest BootCamp (ships with leopard) and not the Beta one.

I recommend you get into virtualization if what you do is not CPU/RAM intensive.

Personally, I only use Windows for a handful programs. I don't have to shut down the virtual machine, suspending it does the job.

check out VMWare Fusion (version 2 just got released!)
