The Chairman of Ogero Dr. Imad Kreidieh revealed that Lebanon might be facing an internet shutdown by the end of March 2020 unless the Ministry of Telecom manages to secures $4 million in foreign currency (dollars). The Chairman shared the news during a report on AlJadeed, and later confirmed the news on Twitter.
LBC said that Krediyeh denied it but it looks like this country is really falling apart.

$4 million yearly costs for the internet.
That's $333000 / month.
Considering that internet penetration Lebanon is 75%; let's divide this number by 4.5 million users.
What this means is:
If every internet user in Lebanon pays 6 cents per month it is enough for covering all the costs.

I think it is per year as i heard somewhere .
This shows how much internet prices could be reduced, for example by at the very least 50% the government and isps can keep making big profits . But they wanna steal the people :(

Kreidieh in ICT group said no need to panic, they are solving this issue.
Also i think it is one of payments, probably there is many of them (each backbone, IMEWE rent, other cables rent).
Any regular updates on this matter would be highly appreciated.
The subscription cost of Lebanon is 2 million $ per year.
+ 2 millions of operation and maintenance.

It's a claim in the linked video. Like nuclearcat said, likely not the total costs.
