I don't blame them. With these weird laws, weird things gonna happen, i mean come on who the hell got this idea? I've never bought a phone from abroad but this seems like an unnecessary hassle, and unfair for small merchant.
Now that huawei is being erased off the international scene bu The U.S(won't last more than 2 years imo), samsung will reign again, that's pure monopoly, something we're not unfamiliar with on this land.

Notice how I said, 'Correctly' If the seal looks weird it probably was re-sealed. I know some have been re-sealing since the iPhone 5s days
Many local merchants/stores actually replace the genuine chargers along with the cable with fake ones inside the boxes of new phones.
When a device starts to become available refurbished, Amhaz (and other bigger merchants) get the refurbs, print fake boxes and seal them.

Has anyone experienced a water damaged iPhone?
Not necessarily bought from Amhaz, I just didn't want to open a new thread about this.
Recently an iPhone 7 plus got water damaged while taking pictures and video in the pool (just a few centimeters deep).
Anyone experience such a thing? And is there a chance for the phone to work?

Best thing you could do is not to power on the phone and trying to let it dry for several days.
Look up different methods to dry it, some suggest to put it in rice for a couple of days while others say it is bullshit.

rice is bad, you need different methods of drying. I tested it as drying agent - it is near useless.
If water damage was severe and you didnt bring it to service to disconnect the battery physically and dry under heat gun (carefully! without desoldering), most likely you have corrosion under some elements and it will need much more expensive service, bga reballing and etc.
